As the editor of both Gransnet Local Worthing local.gransnet.com/worthing and Gransnet Local Brighton & Hove local.gransnet.com/brighton-hove I have managed to arrange a couple of coffee mornings with a couple of Gransnetters, but I would love to find out how many of us there are down here in Sussex, and, more relevantly, how many of us are interested in a meet-up. We don't seem to have the same concentration of Gransnetters as there are in other parts of the country ... or do we??
I'd like to know where you are, what sort of meet-up you'd be interested in (morning coffee/lunch/afternoon tea/evening meal... something else?) and which town(s) in Sussex you would suggest for a meet-up.
Let's see if we can arrange a pre-Christmas event!

* I will post this on both my local forums (and maybe even the editor-less ones!!) and take it upon myself to monitor and copy responses from one to the other, so that whichever one you are posting on, you will have all the other replies available too) ... She says optimistically

NB: Wayfinder is my Local GN username. On the main site I'm NannaAnna

Hi there - I live on the Kent/Surrey borders, close to Croydon, so not near Sussex but would still like to meet up if it's accessible by train. Don't think there are any other Gransnetters near me sad

Train is easy from East Croydon to Haywards Heath Rowantree, it's a direct line through and with three or four trains an hour

That sounds good and perfectly do-able! smile

So sorry for my long absence! Life is pretty hectic at the moment, what with a new job after a brief spell of 'retirement', grand-child minding services required more, organising a house move for DD and SIL who are currently in Australia with first baby due very soon, and other more difficult family issues to cope with too! When will life slow down a bit? And actually do I want it to?? I think I'm better firing on all cylinders! (Within reason)
So … to the topic in hand - Arranging a Sussex meet-up. I am now pretty well flat-out during the week.
Does a Saturday suit anyone else? I know that gratefulgran54 said on another thread that she can only do weekends. Let me know your thoughts.
Another alternative of course, is for someone else to act as host if there are lots of you who'd prefer a weekday.
Welcome to Rowantree and bluekarma Hope to meet you soon!
Over to you again ladies smile

I'm definitely still up for a Saturday in Haywards Heath or thereabouts! smile

Good to know gratefulgran54. Local newsletters are about to be sent out, so hopefully we'll get some more interest soon!
