Doesn't anybody want to have a coffee with us? sad

janerowena Mon 23-Jun-14 11:08:51

I would have been delighted to, if I lived anywhere near, but I thought you were advertising a 'reading aloud' type of book club!

dustyangel Mon 23-Jun-14 11:33:07

grin

It could be worse, you could live in Great Snoring, a village not far from me!

Greenfinch Mon 23-Jun-14 14:33:06

Or in Ugly ! But we are in Reading and want you to meet us for coffee in JL on Wednesday morning .

I've put it on the Berks and Surrey local threads Greenfinch. I'm sure we'll find plenty to talk about even if we are on our own. grin

coastwallker Tue 24-Jun-14 19:52:00

Hi all. Sorry I'm off to play with my babies tomorrow so can't join you this time. I'm hoping to set up a Guildford lunch in August though, if any of you can join that one

numberplease Tue 24-Jun-14 21:08:52

Going off topic, I`ve just looked at your profile page Coastwalker, well done on losing 9st, that must make you feel very proud!

rosesarered Tue 24-Jun-14 21:19:28

Greenfinch I would come, but am full of lurgies[coughing non stop] for last couple of weeks. Hope that a few people meet up with you anyway.smile

Greenfinch Tue 24-Jun-14 21:23:14

Looks like it's just thee and me dustyangel but I'm very much looking forward to it and will have my scarf attached to my handbag. I tried to pm you earlier but our broadband crashed and I lost it all before I was able to send it. I wonder if there is any way of saving a pm. I am not sufficiently au fait with technology to know.

Greenfinch Tue 24-Jun-14 21:25:41

Hope you feel better soon rosesarered. Don't forget we must arrange something for the Oxford area in July.

dustyangel Tue 24-Jun-14 21:45:48

Sorry you can't be with us Coastwalker.Enjoy your babies, they're far more important. I doubt I'll make an August meeting, barring family emergencies flights are too expensive in August.
By the way are you still walking the coast?

It would have been nice to meet you Roses. I hope you feel much better soon. Your lurgies seem to have been hanging around a long time. flowers

Greenfinch Wed 25-Jun-14 07:08:58

Still time to join us today. Go on. Surprise us. grin

coastwallker Wed 25-Jun-14 08:22:43

I'll certainly try and come to future Reading meets as Reading is my home town and I am there every week to do things for my mother who still lives there.
Still walking, Dusty! Currently heading for London along the north coast of Kent. And losing the 9st has made the walking easier numberplease!

dustyangel Wed 25-Jun-14 19:42:00

A fantastic achievement coastwalker, both the losing 9 stone and the walking.

I had a lovely time meeting up with Greenfinch again. It is probably a good thing that no one else was able to come. You wouldn't have got a word in edgeways. grin

rosesarered Wed 25-Jun-14 19:54:16

Thank you Greenfinch and dustyangel yes, my lurgies have been with me for nearly 4 weeks, the antibiotics didn't work and I am back to see GP in the morning.Feeling every one of my many years at the moment. sad

rosesarered Wed 25-Jun-14 19:55:31

Did you have nice cakes?

dustyangel Wed 25-Jun-14 20:11:07

Who, us?......grin

Greenfinch Fri 27-Jun-14 16:34:19

Well, I wouldn't have had a millionaire's slice but I was tempted by dustyangel!! [cake] Thanks dustyangel for a very enjoyable morning. We must do it again soon. I'm a bit late responding but have just returned from Manchester where I have been working. My first visit to that city and I really enjoyed it. Loved the cathedral and the little teashop opposite. The natives were quite friendly too grin

rosesarered Fri 27-Jun-14 16:38:11

So, you DID have nice cakes, I knew you would.smile
Haven't been to Manchester since 1962 [!] has it changed a bit? grin

Deedaa Fri 27-Jun-14 22:28:42

Sorry to have missed this. The last couple of weeks have been a bit hectic with baby sitting and DH being ill. Couldn't actually have made Wednesday as I was busy with blood tests.
Will keep an eye out for the next one!
