Derby

Hi shushab and welcome to GN.

There are a few people in this area now. I live in North Leicestershire and Tegan lives in South Derbyshire. We have had one meetup but not many people were interested in the last. Hopefully, this will prompt more people to get involved. Last time we met, it was at EMA as that seemed most accessible but I am happy to meet anywhere (and do lifts!)

My eldest daughter lives in Derby and taught at the primary school in Allestree. I used to go over once a week to babysit but now I only go when there is a panic!!

I could easily get to Derby centre to meet up . I shop in Derby sometimes now as it beats Nottingham 's very run down shopping centres.

kittylester and trendygran: Which days are you free to meet up?

Why don't we try to do a bigger meet up with other people in the area?

I would love to meet up with any other Grans in the Derby/Darley/Allestree/Duffield areas!

We drove through Melton Mowbray on the way to Newmarket and strangely enough I got talking to someone at the gym yesterday whose daughter works with the military animals there. I missed the original post as I was away that weekend..we've been trying to get another Derby meet up off the ground for ages [feeling a bit billynomates'ish ]. I've yet to use my bus pass to get into Derby so it would be a good way to use it!

Shall I do a more general East Mids thread?

We're throwing the idea around of a meet up at East Midlands Airport [the hotel there; can't remember it's name ] on 12 Aug. [sue I've pm'd you about the date]. May only be a select group of 4 but anyone and everyone are welcome to join us!

We were terribly exclusive number there were just the 3 of us eventually (plus sue's husband towards the end) and I really enjoyed meeting up with Sue and Tegan.
