Ok, We have finished digesting the the Missoni Bar's blue ice lollies and organised the theatre visit in December, now to turn our minds to October.

There were six or seven people interested in meeting then. I shall PM you all to check that you are still on, but meanwhile would anyone else like to join us?

Possible dates are:-
The first week (any day)
The 13th, 14th and 15th
The week from 17th to 23rd (any day)

Any preferences within those dates?

When and where shall we meet?

Three for Gennaro and none so far for anywhere else? Could be a landslide "yes" for Gennaro!

Marmight Fri 19-Sept-14 10:29:03

Gennaro sounds good but will go with the flow too!

Elegran Fri 19-Sept-14 14:03:18

Four nil to Gennaro. I am abstaining. I shall go along with the majority decision (which at the moment looks like being Gennaro)

Elizabeth1 Fri 19-Sept-14 20:56:59

Marmight Fri 19-Sept-14 21:01:22

Than you Marmight A wee baby boy weighing in at 8Ibs 6 1/2Ibs - (perhaps not so wee) mum and baby Douglas George named after my DH both home. This will be the first night in his own home and everyone is on call except DD who is now in bed with her 4year old snuggling In - it's sooo exciting. Had great pleasure in baby clothes shopping as the smallest clothes ready and waiting were too small. DD so very well after a traumatic first birthing experience. Aberdeen maternity hospital staff raised up and I'm full of praise for them. Now the fun begins. smile

Do we all wear red carnations and rolled up newspapers so we can recognise each other? Is there a Gransnet salute?

Elegran Sat 20-Sept-14 10:28:56

Look out for a gaggle of ladies of a certain age all yakking nineteen to the dozen. As there are people coming who will not recognise faces (but take a look at profiles to see photos) I shall have a purple scarf prominently displayed. Maybe others will do the same. If it is raining I shall also be wearing a bright turquoise rain jacket, which should make a bright enough combination to be visible half a mile away.

If there can be said to be a Gransnet salute, it is "Oh! hello!" and a hug - but there may be others who use the same greeting.

Marelli Sat 20-Sept-14 10:35:59

That's a pity, Scooter, but maybe next time? Jane10, Elegran will tell you about the first Edinburgh meet up, and how we nearly shanghai'd another lady outside Jenners - but prior to looking for her on Princes St, Marmight and I had been waiting for glass to arrive off the Newcastle train at Waverley. We didn't know what she looked like apart from the fact that she'd be wearing a yellow mac. She had been standing on one side of a large pillar and we'd been standing on the other side for quite a while before any of us thought about walking round it! grin

Elegran Sat 20-Sept-14 10:42:48

Meanwhile I got fed up standing outside Jenners in the pouring rain and stood just inside the doors instead. Through the glass I saw these three strange women accost a fourth, who shook her head - I think she was waiting for her husband to fetch the car. I went out and said "Are you looking for me?"

Marelli Sat 20-Sept-14 10:52:39

And that was that! We've been friends ever since! smile

Marmight Sat 20-Sept-14 11:14:50

Aaaaah, I do like a happy ending wink

Elizabeth1 Sat 20-Sept-14 11:35:05

I'll look out a purple scarf too wink one of my favourite colours may I add.

Marelli Sat 20-Sept-14 12:05:09

Marmight grin

Marelli Sat 20-Sept-14 12:08:01

I no longer have a purple scarf as I cut up the only one I had for a pair of curtain tiebacks shock (very effective they are, too), so I'll be standing next to Elizabeth1.

baubles Sat 20-Sept-14 12:38:54

I was wearing a purple scarf yesterday but obvs depends on what I'm wearing on the day, dahlings. grin
