Just a reminder to any Gransnetters in the Buxton area we are hoping to have another meetup next Tues (3rd March) at 10.30 am at Cafe Nero.
For anyone unfamiliar with Buxton,it's on Spring Gardens, which is the main shopping street.
Hope to see some of you there.

You're in the best place, Terrybull. It's still really snowy here and the pavements are like ice rinks. I'd stay put for now and enjoy your Bakewell Tart down there.

I can't meet up with you because I live down south, but just wanted to say I visited Buxton for a week last year and thought it was a lovely town with friendly people, Bakewell as well a few miles away where I had the best piece of, what was it now, oh yes Bakewell tart, the best ever. The Peak District is very beautiful although I know the winters can be harsh.

Hope you get to arrange your date GNs and have an enjoyable time, perhaps I'll look out for when it is going to be and treat myself to a piece of Bakewell tart that day, so at least I'll be with you in spirit!

Oh dear! Just consulted the calendar for 3rd March and find that I'm already committed to visiting Media City in Salford that very day. What a shame! Two things I want to do on the same day. Another time, I hope?

Buxom? Well, that's one way of putting it. I think I qualify. grin

Haha, maybe the buxom ones are all on mumsnet, Crafting.
You're welcome to join us, flat chested or not!

Crafting Wed 04-Feb-15 21:12:57

Sorry, read this thread as buxom meet up and was quite affronted but lack of empathy for the flat chested confused. I have put my glasses on now grin

I could come by train.

Look forward to seeing you. Maybe the weather will improve by March. Even in Buxton!

It's not too far from me eitherm I live in Cheshire East and approach Buxton on the A54.
I drive through Buxton quite regularly on my way to see my DGS. As long as the snow has gone by then it should be OK

Poynton isn't too far from Buxton and if I'm free that day, I would enjoy a little trip into the Peak District. Maybe members from Buxton or elsewhere in Derbyshire would like to meet NW members when we organise another meet-up.

If there are any gransnetters in the vicinity of Buxton (Derbyshire) we are hoping to meet for coffee at Cafe Nero on Tuesday 3rd March at 10.30. Just two of us got together for the first time today and we had a great time. If anyone wants to join us next time we'd be delighted to see you.
