Isn't it about time we had another Birmingham meet up?

Any thoughts about date/venue/time?

Lunch maybe, early March or last week in February?

Very much enjoyed meeting three fellow Gransnetters at the Birmingham Art Gallery tearoom yesterday. Looking forward to the next meet up! I am in London fairly often to see GC and, having dipped my toes into the water, would be interested to go to a meet up there. Coventry and Wolverhampton are also possibilities.

As soon as I've been able to confirm our UK dates with DD1 (on holiday at the mo) - we can fix a date. I shall be in Market Harborough- so that is easiest for me, but happy to travel to Leicester or Oakham - I will have a car.

kittylester Tue 18-Aug-15 09:35:36

I should be up for something then, too!

Teetime Tue 18-Aug-15 09:25:47

I can do any of those locations either by train or in the trusty Mildred. Most dates are OK but NOT 10/11/20 & 30th Oct. Hope to see you soon. smile

Won't be able to make it this time- but hopfully we can find a date last 2 weeks in October- either Leicester, Market Harborough or Oakham. Which would be best for you?

I have just taken delivery of my new Senior Railcard so when are we going and where please?

Tegan Sun 16-Aug-15 21:16:57

I'm sure we'll have another one at some point smile.

lana1946 Sun 16-Aug-15 21:13:53

Hi Tegan, unfortunately cannot meet tomorrow, on grandparent duties Monday's and Tuesday's!! But thank you.

Tegan Sun 16-Aug-15 21:08:20

Iana; we're meeting tomorrow morning at the art gallery tea rooms if you're free. 3 of us will be at the 'floosie in the jacuzi at 11.30' then moving on to the tearooms. I'll pm my mobile in case you can come.

Hi Elrel
I've just joined GN and I live near Birmingham and would love to meet up.

Tegan Wed 29-Jul-15 14:59:35

They're in the Art Gallery. I think you just walk uphill from the station to the main square [by the Town Hall?]. I left something there that I'd bought in the shop last time; it might still be in lost property smile

Anya Wed 29-Jul-15 14:38:19

It's a possiblity, but where are these tea rooms you mentioned? I have absolutely NO sense of direction!! I know my way from Moor Street Station to the Bullring ... on a good day grin

Tegan Wed 29-Jul-15 13:54:35

My cunning plan is to go to Brum on 18th August which is a Tuesday then stay with my cousin that night [my cousin has been warned but I haven't yet checked that the S.O. can look after the dog].

Anya Wed 29-Jul-15 13:27:18

I'm cracking up that should read GS1

Anya Wed 29-Jul-15 13:25:54

I can't do Fridays as apparently I've offered to run GS3's Chess Club on Friday lunchtime. At least that's what the email, thanking me, said from his HT.

I'll wring his neck when he gets back from France hmm (GS3 not the HT)

Tegan Wed 29-Jul-15 13:22:35

Same here; the summer is just disappearing and I do have to go to Birmingham to do some family research. Currently looking at 17th-21st August. My plan is to go there on the train, go to the museum etc anyway [cause I love it there] and then stay with my cousin for a day or so, to see what I can find out about our family history.

I'd try to fit in with Birmingham date. I'm trying to fit a lot in between now and the end of October, so I'll go with the flow! X

grin Did someone say something!

Tegan Wed 29-Jul-15 12:24:28

'I'm quite happytalking to myself [and often do]....' bit like now really sad......

Tegan Sat 25-Jul-15 18:00:08

I do have a cunning plan and that is that, when I eventually decide on a date to go to Brum I'm going to announce that I'll be in the tearooms at such and such a time and if anyone turns up they do and if not I'm there anyway. Was thinking that the Birmingham g'netters would be able to make it and we could then plan a larger meeting later on; might be in the next couple of weeks. If it goes wrong I'm quite happytalking to myself [and often do]....

kittylester Sat 25-Jul-15 17:51:33

Why do you think we need a minimum of 4, Lucky? confused

Luckylegs9 Sat 25-Jul-15 17:37:24

Think you need to set a date, for example Edwardian Tearooms second Saturday in October and see how many want to go, I say about 11 o clock and we need a minimum of 4 people.

granjura Wed 22-Jul-15 09:33:26

Looks like we will be over last 2 weeks in October- so hopefully some of us will be able to meet up in Market Harborough then- looking forward to it. In the meantime, enjoy the next meet-up, wherever it will be.

Anya Wed 22-Jul-15 09:22:24

I'm away 7-11 September too, in Jersey.
