In May? Some of us have been throwing a few ideas around. I can get a bus to Leicester [although I don't know the place very well]. Are there and dates/venues etc that would suit various people?

J52 Tue 19-May-15 18:49:32

It was really great to meet with everyone today and put names to faces. Such good company, the time flew by. I hope we can meet up again soon. x

POGS Tue 19-May-15 18:34:28

Pleased to hear you had a good 'meet up' today.

Tegan Tue 19-May-15 18:34:16

Think the bus took the scenic route back but saw some lovely villages. There'll be no stopping me now I've learned to use buses. I'm still trying to get over being so close to the very spot where the found Richard III, especialy after seeing it on the telly, or the fact that I'm now a 'lady who lunches' so thanks to the ladies who lunched with me smile.

Grannybug what a wonderful name!
It's what my sister calls ladybirds smile

I had a lovely time - thank you Tegan for organising. The company was great but I wouldn't say the same about the food! grin

Grannybug Tue 19-May-15 17:56:24

It was lovely to meet other GNetters in Leicester today. Good company and food and Richard 3rd exhibition was great. Be nice to meet up again. smile

Of course you'd all be welcome when we do meet at last when I am next in Market Harborough- that would be grand.

In the meantime, have lots of fun and report back x

I'm now going to get a much earlier bus; the 9.38 wouldn't get me to Leicester till 11..hopefully I can get to St Margarets Bus station by 10 and make my way to the train station.

Teetime Mon 18-May-15 12:29:27

and me I often shop in MH. Going to do the park and ride after all tomorrow - its stops near JL so no cocktails for me - I'll get high on the company. wine

J52 Mon 18-May-15 12:04:55

Oh yes, Kitty. Just didn't want to impose an idea on anyone else. smile x

kittylester Mon 18-May-15 11:11:00

I could come to MH too, if I'm allowed. smile

Could someone bring a camera please (mine appears to be full of wedding and birthday cake photos) as I don't know how to post from my phone to GN (or someone could tell me how!)

I'm really looking forward to it!! smilewine

Granjura, we will toast you, as there in spirit. Do let me know when you're over. If we can't make a big organised meeting maybe you and I could meet in Harbs. x

Grannybug Mon 18-May-15 10:12:10

Hello Tegan I will be at the station at 11 and would like to do the Richard exhibition . Will be wearing my purple berghouse jacket and jeans and trying to look as if I know what im doing! Will head to upper crust cafe and hope to meet you there. Looking forward to it.

granjura Mon 18-May-15 08:57:54

Hello Leicester - just popping in to wish you a very lovely day tomorrow, lots of fun and a good chin wag. Wish I could meet you all- so hope we can arrange something another time when I am over. Leicester will always have a huge part in my heart, as I was made so welcome there and made such wonderful friends.

Enjoy... x

John Lewis is where St Margarets baths were.

J52 Mon 18-May-15 07:28:43

Nellie, I'll try and be helpful, but a map is a good idea!

Basically you are heading towards John Lewis, in the traffic free part of the Highcross shopping development. It's just behind the Cathedral. Carluccios is on a corner, more or less in front of JL. You will come across Carluccios. first, as you walk towards JL.

I'd give you more precise 'left, right turn' directions, but that might be more confusing!

I'm sure if you ask anyone they would easily point you in the right direction.

See you Tuesday. x

Nelliemoser Sun 17-May-15 20:17:25

J52 I could find the Cathedral. I have no idea where Carluccio's is. I will get a town centre map off t'internet though.

Tegan Sun 17-May-15 19:44:28

Never know; we might have such fun that we decide to do it all again next week. And, there is later in the year as well.

pompa Sun 17-May-15 14:05:28

Wish I could be with you all, unfortunately noy in Leicester until next week.

Hope you all have an enjoyable time.

Tegan Sun 17-May-15 13:28:06

Must put my phone on charge before I forget.

J52 Sun 17-May-15 13:22:08

Hi, just to say I'm in Leicester, not coming by train, but I was able to meet anyone at the station who did not know their way to Carluccio's or the Cathedral.

However, everyone seem to be sorted, good. See you all at 2 pm. x

Tegan Sun 17-May-15 12:41:36

I'll be at the bus station at [I hope] 11. J52 is just meeting us at Carluccis I believe [I think most people are just going to Carluccis and only me, Nellie and possibly Grannybug are doing the Richard III stuff.. I don't know about Grannybug. Nellie; as soon as my bus gets in I'll phone you and tell you where I am.If anything goes wrong I will head for the Upper Crust. If you phone me don't be surprised if you get cut off at first; I hardly ever use my phone and often press the wrong button [yes; it's so old it has buttons on it blush]. No idea what I'll be wearing other than it won't be a skirt/dress of any kind. If I'm doing lots of walking I may wear trainers and not my Ugg boots. The weather may be bad on Tuesday so I might wear my wax jacket just in case.

Nelliemoser Sun 17-May-15 12:26:54

Oops! One of your daughters.

Nelliemoser Sun 17-May-15 12:25:57

Hello Leicester! One of you daughters is returning home on Tuesday. I will expect a fanfare.

For those others who are coming by train. I have now booked to arrive at about 10:30am. I do want to visit the cathedral and exhibition

I think me Grannybug, and J52 are to be arriving by train. Tegan has given me her mobile and I think I have sent her mine.

I have found a map of the station. How about meeting at Upper Crust in the concourse so the earliest ones can get a drink? That seems the most obvious place to meet.
I am five foot. I wear glasses and I have short greying hair.
