Announcing the inaugural meeting of two Gransneters
in Abingdon this morning.
There must be more of you lurking
in the bosky environs of Oxfordshire, and "bohemian" and I
would love to meet you.
We thought Oxford might be reachable for everyone,
even those, like us, who are dependant on public transport.
The Ashmolian has a good cafe where we could meet, plus lots of fascinating exhibits to enjoy.
If the idea of meeting other solo members appeals, a pm to me might help to get this local group off the ground.
Gransnetters of Oxfordshire unite!
Hugs, Leonora 47.

We know!??????

Greenfinch Fri 17-Jun-16 09:41:57

That's all I'm coming for ?

rosesarered Fri 17-Jun-16 09:38:32

grin

Anya Fri 17-Jun-16 09:36:27

I will NOT rain sunshine

Anya Fri 17-Jun-16 09:35:11

I should remember the way .. though I'm known for my ability to get lost!!

We will wait for Greenfinch but I'm not guaranteeing there will be any cake left grin

rosesarered Fri 17-Jun-16 09:32:55

Oh that's good Greenfinch, we will be there waiting for you.

rosesarered Fri 17-Jun-16 09:30:46

That's right Anya, it will take about 15 mins, do you remember the way?

Greenfinch Fri 17-Jun-16 09:30:09

Yes,butif it is raining or you didn't feel like walking ,you could catch the 14 bus just outside the station and get off at The Martyrs monument.

Anya Fri 17-Jun-16 09:23:48

Train booked. Arrives at Oxford Station, allowing form usual delays, at 10.40, which, if I remember correctly, is about a 15 minute walk to the Ashmolean?

Anya Fri 17-Jun-16 08:13:01

11.30 would make it a bit easier for me as I'll have to rely on the Park and Ride unless I get a train.

Greenfinch Fri 17-Jun-16 07:55:29

I will join you a bit later as my bus from Reading does not arrive until 11.30 and I need to walk from Castle Street. And before that I need to catch a bus from where I live to Reading. Looking forward to the meet-up.

rosesarered Thu 16-Jun-16 17:04:54

Can we all get there for 11 am?
As I'm a local I will get there early to get us a table.

Anya Thu 16-Jun-16 16:57:37

Make that a 'yes' from me sunshine

rosesarered Thu 16-Jun-16 08:52:15

Alea I know it will depend on how things are for you, yes,say nearer the time.

dramatictessa Thu 16-Jun-16 08:47:08

Can't make 1st, I'm already going to a birthday lunch.

Greenfinch Thu 16-Jun-16 08:43:12

It should be fine for me too.

Alea Wed 15-Jun-16 23:28:01

It's not out of the question - I'd very much like to, can I say a bit nearer the time perhaps?

rosesarered Wed 15-Jun-16 18:37:29

Anya Greenfinch. Alea .....?

rosesarered Wed 15-Jun-16 18:36:08

If anyone can make Friday 1st July at the Ashmolean basement cafe, ( I can) will you comment on this thread?

rosesarered Wed 15-Jun-16 18:34:43

I see Alie so the Abingdon meets are best for you then.smile

AlieOxon Wed 08-Jun-16 12:35:05

Roses buses don't work for me as I can't walk far enough either.

Alea Wed 08-Jun-16 11:54:14

On balance I would prefer a Friday, but I can be so unreliable, don't consider my preferences above the majority!!

rosesarered Wed 08-Jun-16 09:36:38

There are other venues but the Ashmolean has such a large cafe in the basement that it's not a prob getting seated ( near giftshop and loos as well.)

rosesarered Wed 08-Jun-16 09:34:11

Alie you can get a bus from where you live all the way to Oxford.Don't we just need coffe and cake?

Anya Wed 08-Jun-16 06:46:23

I can do a Friday probably. Love the Ashmolean but happy to meet up anywhere in central Oxford. I use the Park and Ride.
