Anybody up for a North West meet up before we get busy with the Summer holidays?

Nana3 Thu 04-Aug-16 20:41:27

Having a busy evening as two GC are staying over but feeling very able to cope with the fun and games after a lovely, relaxing meet up with GN friends. Hope we can do it again soon.

I really enjoyed our meet up yesterday. Thanks, Nana3 for organising it. It was lovely to meet thatbags on your brief sojourn to God's own country! Look forward to meeting you all again soon, good luck with the house Fran63!

Met up with some lovely ladies yesterday Thursday 4th at the Villa. Sorry I missed seasider. Please keep in touch re any further meetings. Not sure if I am using the site correctly and have posted a similar message yesterday.

fran63 that was an old thread from last year, never mind you have found the right one now. It was lovely to meet you.
Hope you are better today rubylady

Hi Nana thank you for your message but no, not really. I got a letter back from the hospital from my colposcopy recently and I have CIN 1, which I don't know what they will do about it as I can't ring on a Saturday. I will ring on Monday. I hope you are well. I'm going to try and chill out for a while and then have a sleep. smile

DaphneBroon Sat 06-Aug-16 12:30:34

Have you read this? Try not to worry, it sounds OK-ish flowers

"CIN1 often goes back to normal without treatment but a repeat cervical screening test (smear) is needed to check that the cells have gone. Treatment is usually given to remove CIN2 or CIN3 abnormal cells, also called moderate or severe dyskaryosis or dysplasia" (see 'Treatments and their impacts').

Hi ruby, I'm sorry to hear this news, hope DapnneBroone's post was reassuring. Thinking of you.

rubylady Wed 10-Aug-16 23:49:43

Thanks Nana yes, it was reassuring, I haven't thought too much about it to be honest last couple of days, I've been in tremendous pain with starting a period again. I thought it was coming to an end and I'd avoided one this month but no, full force but very painful. Plus been sorting out my dad's affairs still and planning what I will be doing when my son leaves home. Just looked at Tesco and I can buy all the things I haven't been able to, normally we food shop for the family so personal choices go by the wayside, now I will be able to buy all my favourites! Lovely. I hope you are well and I look forward to meeting up again soon. Xxx

I'm up for a meet, if anyone is interested, within the next couple of weeks, get me through this waiting time, give me something to look forward to. I can't make Thursdays now though, and it would have to be nearer to me as I can't drive too far at the moment. Anyone? X

carol257 Fri 12-Aug-16 21:49:54

Hi Ladies

Been busy last few weeks celebrating my 60th birthday....surprise party....afternoon tea..week away..just looked at post and I seemed to have missed another meet up. Anyway would love join you for next one hopefully...(although you will all be best buddies by now)....

rubylady Sat 13-Aug-16 02:18:58

Not at all carol and congratulations on your birthday. cupcake It would be lovely to see you at the next meet. X

Nana3 Sun 14-Aug-16 14:34:58

Many happy returns carol flowers
If anyone would like a meet up after the schools go back how about a Thursday in October, I can do 13th, 20th or 27th at the moment.
I'm happy to find a venue near Bolton that's easy to get to.

Nana3 Sun 14-Aug-16 14:38:42

Sorry ruby just read that you can't do Thursdays. Could change that to any Friday in October.

rubylady Mon 15-Aug-16 05:11:39

Thanks Nana, I'm free anytime in October on a Friday.

What about Dolce, Italian bar, cafe and grill. Prices and menu looks a little posher than the garden centre but still affordable. It is on Blackburn Road, Bolton, withing the Global Interiors Furniture shop. Let me know what you think. I've never been myself yet so it would be a new experience for me too. X

Nana3 Mon 15-Aug-16 08:42:57

That looks okay ruby it's fairly close to the Middlebrook exit of the M61 and should be easy to find.

mazza245 Mon 15-Aug-16 09:57:07

I'm up for a meetup in October. I don't know how I'll be placed on a Friday for picking up at school in Garstang at 3.15 though as my husband can't help on Fridays. I'm alright for any of those days at the moment with that proviso.

Iam64 Mon 15-Aug-16 19:07:23

Hello DaphneBroom - so far as I could see, your post wasn't responded to. I want to say thanks and support your comment. One of my daughters was pre cancerous for 5 years and has just had her first normal smear result. What a relief.

carol257 Mon 15-Aug-16 19:14:00

Hi all

Yeah October is good for me smile

Nana3 Tue 16-Aug-16 18:51:27

The 14th, 21st or 28th are my favourites.

thatbags Wed 24-Aug-16 12:08:03

Oh, great! I've just received a parking fine (£60) for my visit to Villa Express on 4 Aug because I didn't know to inform someone there about my car and was there for more than two hours.

What a buggeration! sad

rubylady Sat 27-Aug-16 23:40:18

That is awful thatbags, you didn't deserve that. A very expensive lunch. sad

mazza245 Sat 27-Aug-16 23:40:42

I'm presently on holiday in Portugal, boiling my socks off! My friend, Linda, who came to the Villa Express with me has informed me that she has got a parking fine! I am assuming I have one at home waiting for me too! I've asked her to ring VE on our behalf and ask them what's going on! Bags, we all gave them our reg nos and were assured we were OK fir staying longer, do you remember? It's very annoying but we'll sort it out. Unfortunately I can't from here at the mo unless I email them. Anyone else heard?

mazza245 Sat 27-Aug-16 23:41:40

Rubylady, we both posted at exactly the same time then, spooky!

thatbags Sun 28-Aug-16 07:44:46

mazza, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's fine. nana3 and I have got ours cancelled by phoning someone at Villa Express and explaining. It seems some car registrations didn't go through the system properly.

If you PM nana3 or me, we can give you the number for Linda to ring.

Babs1952 Tue 30-Aug-16 21:49:12

Hi Ladies I really hope I can join you at the next meet up. I visited Middlbrook recently so I know where it is which is something! October should be ok for me. smile
