I thought this was a Christmas meet in December?
Failed again blush

Elegran Tue 16-Aug-16 16:52:47

That is what happens when two meets are on threads at the same time, Grannylyn Never mind - there will be others.

Marelli Tue 16-Aug-16 18:01:20

It was a lovely lunch and so good to meet Oldgoat smile.
grannylyn65, we were looking forward to meeting you and really sorry you weren't there, but we'll see you in December!
We may even manage another wee meet before then....hopefully?

thatbags Tue 16-Aug-16 18:08:54

Just home. Delayed slightly by needing iced coffee (strawberry and watermelon cooler in Minibags's case) after a hot train ride. Lovely to see everyone and to meet oldgoat for the first time.

The cheese and pear pasta parcels were fab too.

What a lovely day in beautiful Edinburgh - the city was buzzing. I must look into these discounted vouchers for future reference then there wouldn't be the palaver I got into today. Anyhow I did enjoy the lunch even although it didn't look like a fish -.it tasted like a fish because it was a fish. (Cod) to be precise. Yummy. It was lovely to meet up with everyone today and to meet another twin oldgoat here's to the next meet up. smile

Marmight Wed 17-Aug-16 08:25:14

Thanks Eliz1 for organising everything. What a difference the sun makes! Lovely to see everyone again and to meet oldgoat. Look forward to the next time smile

It was such a treat to meet all you lovely North-of-the-Border GNers yesterday for the Edinburgh meet-up. It was quite scary turning up for a meal with a group of (almost) complete strangers but you were all so friendly and welcoming that I shouldn't have worried. Thanks very much elizabeth 1 for organising the tasty meal -- I am back on my strict diet again today!
Really looking forward to the December meet-up.

I forgot to tell you what you missed when you all buzzed off leaving me to my farewell loo visit. One of the young waiters or chefs was changing his shirt in the corridor leading to the loos.

Jane10 Thu 18-Aug-16 12:30:56

Well if you're organising entertainment like that you should have told us in advance!

Elegran Thu 18-Aug-16 12:44:18

It's your own fault if you missed it - you went away too soon!

Jane10 Thu 18-Aug-16 12:48:59

Och!

Elizabeth1 Thu 18-Aug-16 15:17:57

Elegran You didn't see his legs by any chance?

Elegran Thu 18-Aug-16 15:34:54

Elizabeth1 It was a SHIRT for goodness sake, not a nightshirt!

Jane10 Thu 18-Aug-16 16:26:34

grin

moira13 Thu 18-Aug-16 16:35:15

Would like to join the Edinburgh group.

Elegran Thu 18-Aug-16 17:20:10

Lovely to hear from you, Moira13 and I hope we meet you in person soon. You have just missed us on the 16th August, and the next thing arranged is the Christmas lunch on 5th December, but there is sure to be something else before then. If you go to www.gransnet.com/forums/meet_ups_where_are_you/1228116-Planning-ahead-C-s-lunch-in-Edinburgh you will see all about the Christmas lunch, including the menu, and you can add your name if it sounds as though you would like it.
Meanwjile, keep watching the forums for the next lunch.

Jane10 Thu 18-Aug-16 18:08:55

Cant guarantee there are topless waiters though!
