Anyone fancy meeting up for coffee in or around Cambridge?

downtoearth Tue 03-Jul-18 07:12:50

Will wait until date set then let you know ,would love to meet up with you all again x

jacalpad Tue 03-Jul-18 06:09:36

Yes! I am currently trying to arrange a date for July. If you would like to join us, when are you free? I envisage meeting at a coffee venue in Cambridge, as previously, but welcome any alternative suggestions.

Is the Cambridge meetup still active ?

NonnaW Fri 29-Jun-18 11:24:03

Still interested, but now can’t do Tuesdays or Wednesday.

merlotgran Fri 29-Jun-18 09:01:35

I'm up for it, jacalpad. Wednesdays are good for me but I can do other days.

Time has passed since we last tried to arrange a date to meet up! Can we have another go at finding a date? July? What days/dates are interested parties free? cafe

GrannyHaggis Wed 28-Mar-18 11:15:52

April would be good for me. Wednesdays also good.

merlotgran Mon 12-Mar-18 20:49:22

I'm OK from the second week of April. Wednesdays are good for me.

NonnaW Mon 12-Mar-18 19:36:26

Sorry I missed the last few messages. Was there a meet-up? For future dates, I can’t do Tuesdays but would generally be able to manage other dates. I’m away from 21st March for 6 days, then we are on the lead up to Easter. Maybe April?

JackyB Mon 12-Mar-18 16:06:07

I was going to say I could join you but I'm only in the area from 5 - 10 March. I'm back home now (in Germany) - did I miss anything? Will be visiting again late April (Mum is deteriorating fast, will be visiting more often)

Just seen this and would love to come along I live just outside Cambridge so easy for me. Monday, Thursday or possibly Friday good days for me. Don’t know my round the Botanical gardens but should be able to work it out.

Lindylou51 Tue 20-Feb-18 08:06:51

Wednesday is also good for me although I am on holiday in March. I do wonder whether some might be put off with the Botanics as it could be quite an expensive time if people have to come by train or park in one of Cambridge's horrendous expensive car parks. That said though the Botanics works for me as I have an annual ticket.

I can't make 23rd either or Tuesday of next week as DH has hospital appointments. Normally Wednesday is a good day for me.

Might it be a good idea to wait until the weather settles down a bit. We seem to be in for another bad spell next week.

GrannyHaggis Mon 19-Feb-18 16:57:26

I can't do Monday or Tuesday in term time. Sorry I can't make 23rd either!

jacalpad Fri 16-Feb-18 12:21:41

Anyone? confused

jacalpad Sat 10-Feb-18 14:00:46

Would someone like to suggest which day of the week we go for, as Friday no longer seems to be preferred day. I personally can generally do anything except school holidays.

Maranta Fri 09-Feb-18 20:17:28

I would prefer another day actually as I volunteer on Friday’s and would not be free until 1 o’clock.

jacalpad Fri 09-Feb-18 10:02:15

Is anyone free on 23rd? If not, let’s find another day/date?

Lindylou51 Sun 04-Feb-18 17:06:39

I'm afraid Fridays are not possible for me as I have grandchildren that day. Hope to be able to come on the next meet up.

jacalpad Sat 03-Feb-18 19:07:47

We are now in to February, so shall we set a date? Friday seems a possibility for lots of us. How about Friday 9 February or Friday 23? That avoids the half-term week, which tends to be busier at the Botanic Garden. Also, perhaps some of you help with childcare in the school holidays.

I'm happy with a stroll round the Botanics and tea in the cafe there. There's lots to see in January if you like snowdrops and that kind thing.

GrannyHaggis Fri 19-Jan-18 18:23:11

Just checked and the charges for entry to Botanic Gardens are adult £6/concession £5.50 which includes a voluntary donation of 10%. Standard entry is£5.45/concession £5.Fitzwilliam cafe is very nice!

Maranta Fri 19-Jan-18 15:27:57

I could do most days given sufficient warning.

You have to pay for entrance to the Botanic Gardens and obviously pay in the cafe too. The Babraham Road P&R stops at the train station and its a short walk to the Hills Road entrance.

Would it be better to do the Gardens later in the year?

Fitzwilliam Museum? Any other ideas anyone?

merlotgran Thu 18-Jan-18 22:19:25

Same here. I'm hoping I will have shaken off this horrible virus by then - I think I'm winning.

downtoearth Thu 18-Jan-18 22:10:28

I am pretty much able to fit round most dates...Will see what dates are
Suggested and fit round them
