I shan't mention the dreaded C**-word yet, as September is only partway through, but we do need to start planning and booking if we want to meet up in December. The sooner we book the more likely we are to get a table.

Possible dates - 11th to 20th December, with the 14th or 15th mentioned.
Possible venue - ROSL, Princes Street.
Likely format - lunchtime eating and drinking, and talking. It is just possible that a splinter group may also go to see a show in the afternoon, if there is one that appeals.
Numbers - So far six people are interested. ( Katek Elizabeth1 Jane10 EllenT Marelli Me )

Please add your name if you are interested, and say which date(s) you would prefer.

I've solved the worritsome how to gracefully board the bus wearing a long, figure-hugging skirt. I shall stuff it in a Tesco carrier bag (my son travels the world with his) and do a quick change in the lav. The hotel room where MacSporran and I will be cavorting sleeping at night, won't be available until 3pm. I shall be high jinxing cometh the hour.

oldgoat Love the badge. A work of art.

This is going to be brilliant! Looking forward to seeing you again, gillybob! ☺️

Jane10 Mon 30-Oct-17 08:36:36

But my burka has shrunk oldgoat I can't squeeze into it any more. I'm investigating horse blankets and dust sheets though.

gillybob Mon 30-Oct-17 07:05:15

Thank you Elegran really looking forward to seeing you all. smile

oldgoat Sun 29-Oct-17 20:38:26

But you will be anonymous and mysterious in your burka anyway jane

Jane10 Sun 29-Oct-17 20:26:10

I'm not doing a name badge. I'd rather remain anonymous and mysterious. (Also I always feel compelled to adopt a false name when forced to wear one!)

oldgoat Sun 29-Oct-17 20:01:54

elegran grin

Elegran Sun 29-Oct-17 19:58:41

Oldantelope doesn't sound as good, somehow.

Marydoll Sun 29-Oct-17 19:41:47

That was indeed very crafty.grin

oldgoat Sun 29-Oct-17 19:40:32

Thank you marydoll Strangely enough they didn't have any goat stickers at the craft shop so I had to cut down the horns on an antelope instead.

Marydoll Sun 29-Oct-17 19:28:59

Ooh that looks good, Old Goat. That's it, I'm making one too.
Gillybob, the more the merrier! I'm too am hoping for a wee wander round the Chri*** market.
I'm getting quite excited. I have asked DIL for a day off, so that I can come. Fingers crossed.

oldgoat Sun 29-Oct-17 19:24:54

Here it is.

oldgoat Sun 29-Oct-17 19:23:02

Great minds think alike soop I'm off to three GN meet-ups in the next few weeks so to help everybody like myself that can't remember names I've made myself a badge .

Elegran Sun 29-Oct-17 18:16:02

Yes, Gillybob of course there is room for another. We'll love to see you. I'll add your name to the list.

gillybob Sun 29-Oct-17 18:08:46

Hi Elegran ( and everyone) been looking at this thread longingly for a while and wondering if there's room for one more (not so little) person ? It's okay if not . DH is keen to visit the "C" market. X

soop Sun 29-Oct-17 17:19:39

Charleyg I'm wondering how I shall climb the steps into the bus. My party skirt will need to hitched up before I attempt the task. What with all the passengers watching...I shall not be doing anything too risky. We know most of the drivers. They are used to waiting and doing the crossword whilst I sort out my left leg from my right without tripping over my stick.

soop Sun 29-Oct-17 17:14:17

All the outfits sound most appropriate. Antlers, tinsel, light up flashing earrings, tiara, pearls, burkas, and don't forget name badges. I'm not too good with remembering names when I've had a drinkie poo Elegran Shall we make our own? Safest methinks.

Charleygirl Sun 29-Oct-17 16:40:08

soop please do not forget that you will need your passport because of the sheer distance you will be travelling. Sorry, I almost forgot Baggs as well.

Jane10 Sun 29-Oct-17 16:39:02

I'll be the one in black. My burka doesn't fit anymore. Must have shrunk in the wash. Och.

Katek Sun 29-Oct-17 16:16:13

Do you think my Xmas cardi and holly wreath light up earrings will be ok?

soop Sun 29-Oct-17 13:44:01

grin Well said, Elegran

Elegran Sun 29-Oct-17 13:16:40

As long as you keep your hand on your tiara, it won't go any further than strange looks.

Marydoll Sun 29-Oct-17 12:47:14

I was going to wear my ball gown, but I'm wondering if I might get strange looks on the train.smile

soop Sun 29-Oct-17 12:30:08

Well now, I'm all of a titter. Gransnet could well become a popular website. There an awful lot of turmoil going on in this world of ours. It's good to have a reason to grin

soop Sun 29-Oct-17 12:26:12

Def! With those pearls and jazzy tights you'll be perfectly attired. My skirt has a flouncy hemline. I shall have to be careful not to trip ^a over t*. Hey ho...
