I shan't mention the dreaded C**-word yet, as September is only partway through, but we do need to start planning and booking if we want to meet up in December. The sooner we book the more likely we are to get a table.

Possible dates - 11th to 20th December, with the 14th or 15th mentioned.
Possible venue - ROSL, Princes Street.
Likely format - lunchtime eating and drinking, and talking. It is just possible that a splinter group may also go to see a show in the afternoon, if there is one that appeals.
Numbers - So far six people are interested. ( Katek Elizabeth1 Jane10 EllenT Marelli Me )

Please add your name if you are interested, and say which date(s) you would prefer.

It’s ages, gillybob! Was it not the Newcastle meet-up, where we had that lovely Italian lunch, then sat in the sun having a wee snifter or two (near St.James’ Park)? ☺️

Marmight Thu 09-Nov-17 21:48:05

I'm so envious of you lot. I shall really miss seeing all this year...I can hardly read all your posts. I am reduced to: ?. While you're eating your C******** lunch I'll be fast asleep on the other side of the world. Have fun ?

gillybob Thu 16-Nov-17 10:51:40

Yes I think it was Newcastle Marelli smile

I'm really looking forward to this one, DH is dragging himself away from work and coming to Edinburgh with me (wonders never cease) and we are going to have a little mini-break , staying until Saturday lunch time! Train booked, Hotel booked. Scotland here I come. Can't wait.

DIL has got her new rota and I'm able to come to Edinburgh. I can't wait to meet up!! smile

Elegran Thu 16-Nov-17 22:41:13

Great, Marydoll!

Jane10 Fri 17-Nov-17 09:43:25

I'm quite scared of meeting Marydoll. I hope she doesn't bring any of her Argy Bargy chums with her!

Marydoll Fri 17-Nov-17 09:59:48

grin I'm actually nothing like my Argy persona! Well not much!

Elegran Fri 17-Nov-17 10:03:19

We'd better start practising our Glasgow kiss.

GeminiJen Sat 18-Nov-17 16:14:02

We'll raise a toast to you, marmight, a slice off this ?! ?Have a lovely Oz hol ?

Elegran Sat 25-Nov-17 11:37:05

Marmight Would it be possible to Skype us?

Elegran Sat 25-Nov-17 11:37:37

You could Skype over some sunshine.

Elegran Sat 25-Nov-17 11:42:01

Just heard that we will be in the Edinburgh Room on our own. That is a bit narrower than the Robert Louis Stevenson Room where we have often been before, but has the same bay window looking across to the castle.

The restaurant itself will be full of Bank of Scotland pensioners, so white hair will be obligatory at the ROSL that day.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!tchgrin

soop Sat 25-Nov-17 12:48:35

Please may I sit in a position that enables me to hear what folk are sayin'. Two hearing aids and lotsa noise can be befuddlin'

Elegran Sat 25-Nov-17 12:53:12

If course you can. soop, but if all 17 talk at once there may not anywhere that any of them at all can be clearly heard!

Maybe we should all change seats between courses so that we can talk to different people?

Jane10 Sat 25-Nov-17 13:45:56

Gosh. Its going to be a bit of a do!!

Lona Sat 25-Nov-17 14:14:20

It all sounds really exciting, please can we have lots of photos, (maybe some on fb too?)
Hope you all have a great time with lots of ?????????

Marydoll Sat 25-Nov-17 15:21:16

I was getting worried about all the bling which will be on display. As a result, I have contacted my Swiss bank and they will courier my tiara and family jewels to the family seat in time for the bash! wink

Elegran Sat 25-Nov-17 15:24:20

Will you have a bodyguard to keep an eye on it all? Young and fit, preferably. Bring him along in case you are mugged at the table.

Marydoll Sat 25-Nov-17 15:40:13

I was thinking of bringing Big Jim from the Argy, he is so refined grin.
However, I think he might freak out Jane

Elegran Sat 25-Nov-17 15:44:39

She might take him off you. There's no holding her once she gets a Babycham down her.

soop Sat 25-Nov-17 16:03:56

tchgrin Well, I'm not having my MacSporran mauled to within an inch of his life by you lot. He can entertain himself window shopping. In the meantime...

soop Sat 25-Nov-17 16:09:07

Marydoll I've a vague recollection of meeting Big Jim when I dropped off the upside down cake at the Caff. Is he the swarthy hunk with big biceps and a liking for tattoos?
