I shan't mention the dreaded C**-word yet, as September is only partway through, but we do need to start planning and booking if we want to meet up in December. The sooner we book the more likely we are to get a table.

Possible dates - 11th to 20th December, with the 14th or 15th mentioned.
Possible venue - ROSL, Princes Street.
Likely format - lunchtime eating and drinking, and talking. It is just possible that a splinter group may also go to see a show in the afternoon, if there is one that appeals.
Numbers - So far six people are interested. ( Katek Elizabeth1 Jane10 EllenT Marelli Me )

Please add your name if you are interested, and say which date(s) you would prefer.

Perhaps this lunch should be relocated to the Argy Bargy?

callgirl1 Mon 23-Oct-17 17:29:17

It is to my eternal regret that you deleted the sporran pic before I saw it Soop! With the result that my imagination has worked overtime ever since!

soop Mon 23-Oct-17 13:09:04

I meant to spell eructations correctly. Too busy laughing to remember what it said in the dictionary.

soop Mon 23-Oct-17 13:06:25

Elegran I'm glad that your photographic memory is not as keen as it was way back when.

Elegran Mon 23-Oct-17 12:57:24

What sporran, soop? Never heard of it!

soop Mon 23-Oct-17 12:45:48

I cannot understand why my wee tutu no longer fits. I use it as a tasteful bedside lampshade. Classy!

soop Mon 23-Oct-17 12:43:01

Elegran NO mention of MacSporran's sporran should you get to say hello. I would most definitely be chastised! wink

soop Mon 23-Oct-17 12:40:02

Hang on a mo' Is that word for real, or what! I'm about to check it out in my book of words.

Oooer...I was thinking along other lines. Now, do I experience eructions. hmm I must confess that I do. When in polite company I do my utmost to hold them in. Well, that's okay. Please note that I said when in polite company.

Marelli Sun 22-Oct-17 21:49:44

Ooh, I never did, Elegran! ?

Katek Sun 22-Oct-17 19:48:57

Is the ROSL ready for this?!

Marydoll Sun 22-Oct-17 19:43:44

That is a fabulous word! I'm going to start using it!
Thank goodness we are not meeting until lunchtime, that should give the eructions time to dissipate.

Elegran Sun 22-Oct-17 19:42:45

You thought it was naughties, Marelli, didn't you?
I hope soop brings her wee tutu. This I must see.

Marelli Sun 22-Oct-17 18:52:14

Elegran, I had to look up ‘eructations’......?!
soop, I can imagine you in a wee tutu (of course, you must only have been about a year old at the very, very most)!?

Elegran Sun 22-Oct-17 18:34:32

Depends what the reputation is for, soop In certain fields, it is unparalleled, but then no-one is keen to outdo the gold medal for the most chocolate biscuits consumed in ten minutes. or the challenge cup for early morning eructations.

soop Sun 22-Oct-17 17:49:53

...or so she'll have us believe. wink

soop Sun 22-Oct-17 17:49:08

You misunderstand me. My frisky high kicking days are over. Did you know that I took ballet lessons way back in 1946. Won a prize. Sweet memories! If I can manage to remain upright, I'll be more than happy. Would hate to let the side down. Elegran has an unblemished reputation to maintain.

Marelli Sat 21-Oct-17 19:22:54

‘As stately as a galleon we sailed across the floor...’ Dancing ‘bust-to-bust’ is not my thing, and my gownless evening strap is still in pawn, I’m afraid ?! Jane10, you and I will just have to be wallflowers, if the others fancy a jig (ROSL might not let us back again if we get a bit frisky with lunchtime beverages)! ?

Elegran Sat 21-Oct-17 19:16:53

On the table, Jane. Soop will show us how.

Jane10 Sat 21-Oct-17 18:42:34

Dancing?! Nobody told me there'd be dancing. Worryingshock

soop Sat 21-Oct-17 17:26:43

shall miss you, baubles

soop Sat 21-Oct-17 17:26:13

baubles Aww! Who will hang on to as I trip the light fantastic? I

baubles Sat 21-Oct-17 17:05:01

I’m so sad to be missing this. sadenvy

Definitely need to have another in the New Year. A Monday or a Friday pretty please. (Or a weekend).

callgirl1 Sat 21-Oct-17 15:44:44

Elegran, I`d be too scared to fly on my own, even the train makes me quake at the idea of the distance. Anyway the nearest airport is an hour and a half drive away, and someone would have to take me and collect me on return.

Elegran Sat 21-Oct-17 15:01:50

No, soop nothing until the day. callghirl often it is cheaper to fly than to get the train, if you live near enough to an airport. It is worth checking.

soop Sat 21-Oct-17 14:26:55

Elegran Do I owe you some dosh right now? If so, how much? I'm saving up my pennies in a very large, cracked piggy bank. Thank you for organising the rumpus event on our behalf.
