Lincolnshire meet?

I know we have a few Lincs members so does anybody fancy a GN gathering for coffee/lunch/G&T or whatever?
I'm located a couple of miles south of Lincoln and don't drive but am happy to go anywhere public transport will take me and am easy about whether it's morning, afternoon or evening. Plenty of places to choose from in Lincoln itself but other towns are available!

That explains it then, OG!

I caught the 4.20 train to York scribbles

Lovely to meet the Lincolnshire Grans today. Thanks for organising the meet-up Scribbles
I had a trawl around the charity shops in Grantham and managed to find a coat for GS to wear to the WW2 week at school - as long as he doesn't discover that it's actually a girl's coat.
Just had a light snack when I arrived home - still full from the fish and chips.

It's just me being confused as usual! I thought I'd heard you say you were booked on the 4-something.

callgirl1 Tue 31-Oct-17 21:54:44

No Scribbles, it`s only 50 minutes, but I booked the 5.32pm train in order to save £2 on the fare. I should have stopped being so miserly and caught an earlier one!

Scribbles Tue 31-Oct-17 21:51:37

It takes over 2 hours from Grantham to Boston? Wow - does the train go via Birmingham? I'm gobsmacked. Great to meet you, anyway, CG1.smile

callgirl1 Tue 31-Oct-17 21:39:46

Lovely meeting you all today, I arrived home at 6.45pm, serves me right for booking the later train to save £2!
Sorry you didn`t make it Teetime.

Scribbles Tue 31-Oct-17 20:43:03

My pleasure, Nandalot! I thoroughly enjoyed it; enjoyed the bus ride through lovely autumn countryside, too.
I think we should do it again - maybe sometime in January/February when everything's miserable and we need cheering up. Now, I'm going to spend the remainder of the week eating sensibly to make up for those yummy fish and chips.

PS: Teetime, where were you? You were missed!

Nandalot Tue 31-Oct-17 19:39:48

Lovely meet up today. So pleased to meet you all. Thank you Scribbles for organising.

Scribbles Mon 30-Oct-17 22:44:30

Maybe. Let's think about it after tomorrow.

callgirl1 Mon 30-Oct-17 22:20:54

Maybe one of each?

Scribbles Mon 30-Oct-17 21:56:31

Or a Lincoln meet ...

callgirl1 Mon 30-Oct-17 21:49:36

It would be nice to have a Boston meet.

EnglishRose Mon 30-Oct-17 17:40:13

OH's birthday cupcake otherwise I would drive down as only about 40 minutes for me if the traffic is good.

See you all at the next one. Boston is reachable too.

See you all tomorrow! I`ll be the short fat one (with a stick!)!

Scribbles Mon 30-Oct-17 14:22:10

I've been deliberately NOT forming mental pictures, OG. Long experience has convinced me that people in reality are always much nicer, and different from, my imagined version so I don't do it any more. (I think it began when I started work at a radio station some years ago and was astounded to discover that the dark brown, authoritative voice that read the lunch time news emerged from a spotty, skinny and shy 20 year old and the film reviewer who sounded like a ditzy 18 year old was actually a serious retired head teacher in her late 50s... and so on smile)

oldgoat Mon 30-Oct-17 13:10:52

scribbles When I went to my first meetup I didn't know any of them but as soon as I entered the restaurant I picked the Grans out immediately! I will be arriving with callgirl so you'll probably spot us straight away.
I wonder if you have a mental image of what we look like and how accurate it will be?

Scribbles Mon 30-Oct-17 12:55:02

Looking forward to it, OG. Just wondering if we should all wear a carnation and carry a copy of the Times but that's probably a little OTT!

oldgoat Mon 30-Oct-17 10:42:28

See you all tomorrow. Whoopee!

Nandalot Sat 21-Oct-17 18:53:06

Thanks from me too. Looking forward to it.
