Love to meet up for a cuppa in Lincoln if there is anyone around here. I live in one of the villages nearby.

Hopefully so! Glad you enjoyed yourselves.

Hi, CG. Yes, thanks, we did. We commandeered a corner of the coffee shop and just talked for two and a half hours about anything and everything. Holidays, house moves, husbands, our early fashion faux pas and more. We managed to stay off Brexit, Trump, and gender neutral pronouns so we parted friends.smile. You must come next time.cafe

Jeanie and Scribbles, did you have a nice meet?

callgirl1 Mon 08-Jan-18 23:22:45

Have fun on Thursday!

Oh. We'll miss you CG. sad. But, as you say, there will be other times so let's wait until Nandalot gets home and everyone else is out of hibernation. See you Thursday, jeanie.cafe

Apologies ladies, I haven`t been able to access Gransnet for a few days, and having got it in my head that I wasn`t able to come to the meet up, I have made other plans for Thursday. Hopefully there will be other chances for me to come to Lincoln/shire meet ups.

See you there, Jeanie!
CG, I've had a look at the area where Curtis is. I don't know how well you know Lincoln but, if you take a look at Open Street Map, it's in the bit of the High St between St Mary's St, where the rail station is and St Mark St/Tentercroft St. Curtis' shop is 3 doors up from St Mark Street, and there's space for a taxi to get off the junction and stop to let you out at the beginning of the newly pedestrianised area. There's still works of some kind going on there but you can pick your way around them.
Alternatively, if you're up to the walk from the station, over the level crossing and down the High street, I estimate it as around 400m in total. Hope to see you on Thursday!

Scribbles
Thursday 11th January it is then
at the Curtess Bakery on High St at 11.0 am
I'll be outside the shop
We'll see who turns up.

Scribbles Thu 04-Jan-18 09:54:18

If Thursday suits you, also, jeanie then let's do that! Same time and place but 24 hours later.

jeanie99 Thu 04-Jan-18 00:48:16

Do you want to change it to Thursday.

Scribbles Wed 03-Jan-18 22:11:18

Well, my plans for 11th have been cancelled today so I can now do the Thursday if that helps?

callgirl1 Wed 03-Jan-18 21:42:45

Sorry everyone, my daughter has informed me that she has a hospital appointment that morning, I thought it was on Thursday! So I won`t be there after all, hopefully next time.

Scribbles Wed 03-Jan-18 20:48:24

Fine with me, jeanie. My suggestion of 11:00 was made with the notion of grabbing a table before any lunch time rush as it's such a small p!ace.
CG, I shall probably go into Lincoln tomorrow and will suss out the possibility of you getting a taxi to drop/collect you in that newly pedestrianised stretch. So long as they can pull into the southern end of it, it'll only be around the length of 3 or 4 shops for you to walk.

jeanie99 Wed 03-Jan-18 17:40:45

call girl I didn't realise you are coming by train
are the trains every hour we could make it for 12 noon or just after if that is alright with you scribbles.

callgirl1 Wed 03-Jan-18 17:20:50

OK by me, but I`ll either be quite early or a bit late, trains get in at 9.53 and 10 53.

Scribbles Wed 03-Jan-18 13:04:05

About 11am?

jeanie99 Wed 03-Jan-18 09:11:14

Wednesday 10th January Curtess Bakery High Street, it's near the rail and bus station not far to walk.
Can we fix a time

callgirl1 Tue 02-Jan-18 16:44:37

Any of those dates are fine by me.

Scribbles Tue 02-Jan-18 12:00:50

I'd be up for either of those weeks, jeanie.

jeanie99 Tue 02-Jan-18 00:07:09

I am away from 23 Jan to mid March, that's why I suggested January.
8th-12 January
and 15th-19th January
Monday to Friday for me not weekends
If anyone is interested in January as per dates above and taking into account Scribbles comments
could they give some dates
Thank you

Scribbles Mon 01-Jan-18 17:57:43

I can't do 4th, 11th or 25th of January and I would prefer it not to be a Tuesday (but will fit in if that's the only day that suits others).

Nandalot, have a lovely time and we can have another meet when you come back.

callgirl1 Mon 01-Jan-18 17:49:34

Does it have to be in January?

Nandalot Mon 01-Jan-18 15:30:26

Oh well, that’s me out then! On our Golden Wedding cruise to Caribbean and Central America and we come back when Jeanie goes! Perhaps I can catch you all later in the year. Have a lovely time. Happy New Year to everyone.

jeanie99 Mon 01-Jan-18 13:31:46

8th-12th January
15th-19th January
so far I am alright
Could I have your dates please and I'll try and figure the best date which fits in for all of us.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL
