Love to meet up for a cuppa in Lincoln if there is anyone around here. I live in one of the villages nearby.

I`d be up for that Jeanie99, as long as the venue is accessible by taxi from the station.

Nandalot Sat 30-Dec-17 14:33:04

Hi Jeanie, I live just south of Lincoln. Would love to meet up sometime but might have to delay till end of Jan. because fully committed until then. I am sure we could find a suitable venue Call Girl,

I live just south of Lincoln and would be happy to join in! A lot of the places uphill and on the High Street are difficult to access by taxi since so much of the centre is pedestrianised but Brayford Wharf North is a possibility.
It's not glamorous but somebody told me that the Curtis Bakery in the High Street, just north of St Marks Street, offers an excellent mug of coffee plus very good value bacon rolls and/or cream cakes in its little coffee shop. That's less than five minutes' walk from the temporary bus station, not much more from the rail station and should still be accessible by taxi ...

If that`s the same as the Curtis bakery shop in Boston, they do make exceedingly good sausage rolls and baps of several kinds.

It's the same chain CG. I quite often buy their stuff from another branch, just haven't tried the coffee shop (yet). I'll check out accessibility next week although it may be that the nearest you could get by taxi would leave you with a walk of 50m or so. In which case, we'll have to think again.

Sorry that I can't gate-crash your get-together this time, but I'm off to the Burns afternoon 'do' in Edinburgh at the end of January. Have fun!

I think I could manage 50m Scribbles! Pity, Oldgoat, would have liked to see you again, but can`t afford the train to York, alas.

Wow didn't expect so many replies.
I am away from the 23rd January so before then would suit me.
Monday to Friday from the 8th to the 19th I can just catch the bus into town.

callgirl1 Sun 31-Dec-17 21:59:55

I can`t make the 21st or the 27th.

callgirl1 Sun 31-Dec-17 22:01:03

Sorry, the 6th is out for me as well.

jeanie99 Sun 31-Dec-17 22:36:23

Curtess bakery on High Street is easy for the Rail Station and temp bus station and the area is flat for walking no hill.
I have been there a couple of times freshly made sandwiches cakes etc but it's not large just a few tables.

8th-12th January
15th-19th January
so far I am alright
Could I have your dates please and I'll try and figure the best date which fits in for all of us.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

Nandalot Mon 01-Jan-18 15:30:26

Oh well, that’s me out then! On our Golden Wedding cruise to Caribbean and Central America and we come back when Jeanie goes! Perhaps I can catch you all later in the year. Have a lovely time. Happy New Year to everyone.

callgirl1 Mon 01-Jan-18 17:49:34

Does it have to be in January?

Scribbles Mon 01-Jan-18 17:57:43

I can't do 4th, 11th or 25th of January and I would prefer it not to be a Tuesday (but will fit in if that's the only day that suits others).

Nandalot, have a lovely time and we can have another meet when you come back.

jeanie99 Tue 02-Jan-18 00:07:09

I am away from 23 Jan to mid March, that's why I suggested January.
8th-12 January
and 15th-19th January
Monday to Friday for me not weekends
If anyone is interested in January as per dates above and taking into account Scribbles comments
could they give some dates
Thank you

Scribbles Tue 02-Jan-18 12:00:50

I'd be up for either of those weeks, jeanie.

callgirl1 Tue 02-Jan-18 16:44:37

Any of those dates are fine by me.

jeanie99 Wed 03-Jan-18 09:11:14

Wednesday 10th January Curtess Bakery High Street, it's near the rail and bus station not far to walk.
Can we fix a time

Scribbles Wed 03-Jan-18 13:04:05

About 11am?

callgirl1 Wed 03-Jan-18 17:20:50

OK by me, but I`ll either be quite early or a bit late, trains get in at 9.53 and 10 53.

jeanie99 Wed 03-Jan-18 17:40:45

call girl I didn't realise you are coming by train
are the trains every hour we could make it for 12 noon or just after if that is alright with you scribbles.

Scribbles Wed 03-Jan-18 20:48:24

Fine with me, jeanie. My suggestion of 11:00 was made with the notion of grabbing a table before any lunch time rush as it's such a small p!ace.
CG, I shall probably go into Lincoln tomorrow and will suss out the possibility of you getting a taxi to drop/collect you in that newly pedestrianised stretch. So long as they can pull into the southern end of it, it'll only be around the length of 3 or 4 shops for you to walk.

callgirl1 Wed 03-Jan-18 21:42:45

Sorry everyone, my daughter has informed me that she has a hospital appointment that morning, I thought it was on Thursday! So I won`t be there after all, hopefully next time.
