A walk along York's walls at daffodil time.

Would love to, but would have to take a two hour train journey from Kings X! Used to live in the centre and would walk my dog round the outside of the walls in the evening. Quite late on night I saw some Jewish men praying on the road called Jewbury.

I`d love to join you Oldgoat, but am afraid that the walk would be beyond me now. The last time I walked the walls of York was in the summer of 1976, complete with 5 children.

Sadly, I can’t make it this time I’m afraid, Oldgoat. I’m committed on Mondays and the rest of this month is looking pretty busy. It’s a shame as I have never walked the walls. Have a good time!

I walked part of the walls last week whilst on holiday. For us also it was a 2 hour train journey from Kings Cross. I enjoyed it but as I have worsening spinal stenosis it was quite difficult for me. Love York though such a nice place and everyone so friendly

You really have tickled my fancy oldgoat,sounds just up my street,the only problem being I live a few hundred miles in the opposite direction!!

Sorry that this is a difficult date for some of you but we only had a short period in which to arrange this walk; either the daffodils will have gone over - or been flattened by the rain.
We can always do the walk again later in the summer on a more convenient date.

I can make it as I am not that far away. We can always do another walk later on at a more convenient time ie when this awful rain stops! ☔️? A riverside walk would be nice.

I can make that. Would love to meet some fellow grans and walk the York city walls which I've wanted to do for ages.

I’m really sorry we’ll be travelling back from visiting our son on the south coast that day. It’s good time for a walk around the walls, enjoy!

Sorry about this everyone, but we are having to change the date of the walk because of a double-booking issue.
Perhaps some of you will be able to join us on the alternative date - though the daffs may be looking a bit withered.
I'm opening a new thread with the new possible dates.

Oh how I'd love to but I fear I live too far away. Perhaps I need to get saving for next year!
