Anyone interested in a meet up in Birmingham? Seems quite a while since the last one, but now the weather has brightened may be a good idea to see who is free.

NannyJan53 Tue 11-Sept-18 18:43:43

10th October is ok for me too! grin

Blinko Tue 11-Sept-18 19:04:27

Let's see how many others could make 10th October then.

I have put 10 October in my diary and on the calendar and keeping fingers crossed nothing essential crops up that MUST be done then. All being well, see you all then at 11 in John Lewis. I will keep an eye on thread in case there are changes. Will let you know what I'm wearing nearer the time!

Good morning! I’m assuming these meetings are for adults only? I look after my 2yr old granddaughter on Wednesdays.

Blinko Wed 12-Sept-18 09:08:31

Hi Dora - it would be lovely to see you irl, as it were.

Would the little one be bored with a few old ladies shock nattering? Or maybe she would like the outing for a change? We have had the occasional baby turn up accompanying their Nan. Mind you, the conversation does rather tend to centre on the little ones.

No problem as far as I'm concerned anyway.

No problem for me, except being labelled (tongue in cheek of course) as an Old Lady! The concept doesn't exist in my world ? As long as she has lots of things to amuse her it will be good.

Blinko Wed 12-Sept-18 15:00:06

T&C grin you are just a youngster, anyway.

Tea and cake Wed 12-Sept-18 19:59:18

Ha ha, thanks Blinko! ??

DoraMarr Wed 12-Sept-18 21:56:21

Thank you- I will try to make it. She will be quite happy if she can sit and draw.

Hope to see you both there DoraMarr.

NannyJan53 Thu 13-Sept-18 07:39:59

Yes, DoraMarr it will be lovely to meet you.

From a 'mature' lady grin

DoraMarr Thu 13-Sept-18 09:45:03

Nannyjan- I like to think of myself as “vintage.”

GrannyBeek Tue 18-Sept-18 13:04:23

Hello, new GNetter (and granny) here. This is my first post although I have been lurking for a while.

I live in Birmingham, love JL and would love to come and join you on 10th October.

Blinko Tue 18-Sept-18 14:49:46

It would be great to meet you, GrannyBeek. Look forward to it! Keep an eye on this thread, though. Sometimes with the best intentions, meetings don't happen when people can't make it.

GrannyBeek Tue 18-Sept-18 19:09:22

Will do, Blinko.

I'll enjoy putting faces to names.

NannyJan53 Wed 19-Sept-18 07:37:48

Welcome GrannyBeek, it will be lovely to meet you.

Nonnie Thu 04-Oct-18 17:41:42

Is this still on?

Tea and cake Thu 04-Oct-18 19:42:36

As far as I know...

Blinko Fri 05-Oct-18 12:41:14

As far as I know too, it's still on.

NannyJan53 Sat 06-Oct-18 17:58:36

See you all Wednesday grin

Blinko Sat 06-Oct-18 18:35:36

Right, just to recap, that's 11am, John Lewis coffee lounge, 10th October. I'll wear the coral mac (which has been seen on a previous occasion). It seems it helps to know someone to aim for, so to speak. I also have a GN card to sit on the table. I'll bring it along too.

I think we have NannyJan, Tea and Cake, DoraMarr plus 1, Nonnie and GrannyBeek and anyone else who can make it.

Tea and cake Sun 07-Oct-18 07:28:17

Weather forecast seems to think it'll be warm on Wednesday so I'll post in the morning what I'm wearing, just in case I get there first.

GrannyBeek Tue 09-Oct-18 23:37:54

I have no idea yet what I shall be wearing! For identification purposes, I am tall with shoulder length curly hair which is currently a rather strange but subtle shade of pink.

Tea and cake Wed 10-Oct-18 07:35:07

Love the sound of your hair GrannyBeek! I've put all my summer things away so will be wearing a dark blue patterned top. I have very short blonde hair and will probably have a piece of cake in front of me! See you all later.

DoraMarr Wed 10-Oct-18 08:17:26

Sorry, it clashes with an Arts Society meeting I really don’t want to miss, but perhaps I can join you all next time.
