I know one or two of you were quite friendly with Anya but I can't seem to send a PM to her. If you could ask her if I could have her email address and then let me have it, I would be most grateful. We both have grandsons of the same age , the same name and with the same problem and I just wanted to hear about how hers was getting on. Thanks if you can help

Anya and Ana were 2 different people - I think!!
Yes they were kitty

Polly I said who I was on a thread last year when a few posters said they had missed me.I had no intention of hiding behind a new name, but had to change it for personal reasons, however I never changed my style so most people know, even if they didn’t see that particular thread.smile

I'm not particularly tempted to post as much these days although I greatly appreciated the responses to my wail last week before my knee replacement. Somehow I find all the game threads completely uninteresting so I just skim through active threads to see if any are vital reading.
I do know a few of the new names but some regulars seem to have contributed less and less. Sad.

I know I am invisible! as I will often make a suggestion to a post, then a couple of posters further down the thread will repeat my advice, only to be profusely thanked or praised by subsequent posters, and or the OP? good job I am too thick skinned to care ??

grin

Nfkdumpling it must be something to do with the east coast air as I can’t work all the different names out or who was which or which was who or who’s missing or who’s here I just plod on and treat everyone as unknown ???

I'm yet another invisible poster. Never mind, there's worse things happen at sea.

But I too do miss a lot of the old names, Anna and Anya particularly. GN isn't what it was. I think when people realised about the lack of privacy, understandably a lot left, or are now just reading/lurking.

I assume some of you have been told by pm of name changes? Or just guessed. Sometimes I'll search GN for info on a particular thing. I always get distracted seeing all the old names I'd forgotten, and wondering what they're doing now.

pollyperkins Mon 02-Jul-18 19:08:53

Thought so (re Roses)

Greenfinch Mon 02-Jul-18 17:10:15

You can still post to the old name and it seems to send.Try it with the old name and ask what their new name is.

Chewbacca Mon 02-Jul-18 17:07:50

Rosesarered is still amongst us pollyperkins, but she's under a different colour these days grin

Greenfinch Mon 02-Jul-18 17:05:43

Greyduster is still posting quite regularly I think.

Greenfinch Mon 02-Jul-18 17:01:34

That was a reply to kitty

Greenfinch Mon 02-Jul-18 17:00:05

Yes they were and there was also Aka .?

pollyperkins Mon 02-Jul-18 16:52:56

Also Rosesarered has gone but Im.pretty sure she is posting under a different name and I think I know who!
Is Greyduster still around?
I thought you had to have a very good reason to change your name? Surprised there is so much of it!

kittylester Mon 02-Jul-18 16:43:24

Anya and Ana were 2 different people - I think!!

I sent a pm to another GNer today and started a few sentences with 'And' which always makes me want to say 'Thank you, Ariadne!' as she gave us permission!!

merlotgran Mon 02-Jul-18 16:33:49

Reading through these posts makes me realise just how many have either left or changed their names. I am also useless at spotting a name change so just assume they have left.

Such a shame. Gransnet is not what it used to be.

Auntieflo Mon 02-Jul-18 16:28:38

Could we, have a Gransnet Reunited ?? Please, just could we?

For those of us who are very confused confused

JaneA Mon 02-Jul-18 16:24:04

What's happened to Radicalnan - loved her posts. Now she's disappeared.

cavewoman Mon 02-Jul-18 16:21:26

I only vaguely remember An(y)a being a relative newbie but I too was concerned when Missadventure stopped posting.I don't think she has a new name as I'm sure I would recognise her. She always made me smile.

NfkDumpling Mon 02-Jul-18 15:13:03

Ditto Jalima, I have no memory for names either. And then, just when I do get to know them, people go and change names and I can never figure out who they were before. But everyone else seems to cotton on. Please don’t change your names, it’s just too confusing for a bear of very little brain.

Jalima1108 Mon 02-Jul-18 14:27:35

Nonnie I did miss you smile
I'm just not very good with names .....
and because some names are similar to others I get a bit mixed up blush

kittylester Mon 02-Jul-18 14:10:54

Weren't we told by GNHQ a while ago that our profiles needed to be reinstated if we wanted to make them public as part of the Data Protection thingy?

Wheniwasyourage Mon 02-Jul-18 14:06:58

Me too. Nobody has ever asked where I was when I have had a several-months-long break from posting, which I have done a few times when the political threads have been getting out of hand. I miss wilmaknickersfit, joannapiano, Marelli (who does sometimes still post) and Tegan2 as well as some others whose names have not come to the top of my head (IYSWIM) at the moment!

jenpax Mon 02-Jul-18 13:46:09

Don’t worry I am invisible too.

Greenfinch Mon 02-Jul-18 13:36:17

That's not true Nonnie.I am sure you were a valued member if only we knew who you were???.I wasn't missed either when I changed my username.
