Where is Anya

Sadly Anya seems to have left GN, a great shame.

Ditto for Ana, who was very pleasant and amusing.

Sometimes people don't disappear

I pm'd Anya a couple of time to ask if she was ok but heard nothing back.
And MissAdventure is missing too. I really miss her posts; she was really funny and quick witted. Tried pm'ing her but no response.

If you're here under a different guise, please could you wave?

GN said Anya could not be contacted at the moment whatever that means.

Basically it means she has left GN.
I miss her and Misadventure who also suffered a bereavement and Printmiss who always wished us White Rabbits for the first of the month and Imperfect and many others too numerous to mention, oh just remembered wilmaknickersfit.Many others but mind gone blank.

Anyone know why?

I am sure there was someone on here a few months ago who had been able to contact Anya and said she was taking a break from GN. I was hoping someone might have her personal email that they could PM me with if they got her permission.

I emailed Anya about a year ago and I got a quick reply just saying that for the time being she was taking a break from GN. I got the definite impression she wanted to be left in peace so that is what I have done.

OK NanKate I had a feeling it might be you who had mentioned it on here.That settles it.I will just let it go.???

I think quite a few disappeared after a political thread got a bit heated I don’t really know as I wasn’t on the thread others may know more
Yes Missadventure had been through some difficult times but stuck with it I do hope she’s still here under another name I quess we ll never know

As well as the little difficulties on the political threads, there was the little difficulty of threads being published in the DM. Some posters were unhappy about that, especially by the reminder this is a public site.

I think some were concerned about the facebook connection as well.

It's possible that some of the 'disappeared' may be still among us with new identities.

Which threads were printed? Have I been in print and not known I was famous?!

A few months back many of us expressed our unhappiness about threads appearing on FB and other media. We were more or less told that we're warned about this possibility when we join so nothing can be done to stop 'outsiders' lifting discussions when they choose.

Sadly at that time many GNetters closed down their profiles (which is why so few names now appear in blue). Many changed their usernames and many left altogether.
There was also some real unpleasantness with accusations of bullying and forming cliques.

I'm afraid we just have to accept that GN has changed significantly.

There are several posters I miss and I agree that it would be good to know if they're still around and how they are.

There was a thread recently where it became obvious from the start that the OP was known to some and not to others so obviously a name change.

I find this off putting but I suppose it's bound to happen.

Is there a private site somewhere which people can invite others to join? We all need to rant occasionally but, like when you speak to a sympathetic stranger on a train or flight, you don't need to meet again unless you choose to.
