Hi pinky welcome to GN. This isn't a forum where people reply immediately smile ... sometimes it takes a while.

We did have a small group of GNetters that met up a few times in Dorking, perhaps it can be resurrected. Unfortunately I'm out of the country for the whole of February and the first week of March. I'm sure someone will be along soon to make contact with you.

Hi Pinky, I am also a newbie, are you able to meet in Guildford or Woking!

Hello, I am in Reigate. I did meet up with a few ladies in Dorking once, but that fizzled out. Epsom is easy for me to get to and Guildford a possibility. Maybe there are some others who would like to meet up?

PECS Sun 13-Jan-19 16:06:20

I am in Surrey too!

Greenfinch Sun 13-Jan-19 16:12:34

I could manage Guildford or anything on the Reading to Gatwick train line or the Reading to Waterloo line.

Greenfinch Sun 13-Jan-19 16:48:47

I think the reason that the Dorking meet up fizzled out Goldenspring was partly that Gertie's where we used to meet closed but also that no one actually lived in Dorking and we all came from quite a distance. It became easier for us to join other groups. We have had two gatherings in Staines which could be revived if there was any interest.

Goldenspring Mon 14-Jan-19 08:42:34

Thanks for the explanation, Greenfinch. Unfortunately Staines is too far for me to travel so hopefully we can arrange something in the Epsom or Guildford area

Greenfinch Mon 14-Jan-19 09:34:33

Who is up for Guildford ?I don't think we have had one there before. If 4 or 5 are interested it might be worth arranging one for there.

PECS Mon 14-Jan-19 10:30:24

I can do Guildford! I did go to Gertie's a couple of times x

Greenfinch Mon 14-Jan-19 10:51:37

Oh !Maybe I would recognise you. I have tried to pm Penstemmon as she was a regular at Gertie's and also sometimes came to Reading. My pm was rejected. Does that mean she has left or could she have changed her username ?

I am not very tall and have brown curly hair!

I too live in Surrey. Village just outside Guildford.

Greenfinch Wed 16-Jan-19 10:01:24

Several for Guildford .Would anyone care to suggest a few dates and/or a venue.

angelic Thu 17-Jan-19 18:38:47

Hi,
I would like to come along, I am quite new to Gransnet
If it could be somewhere near station or in the town that would be great.

PECS Thu 17-Jan-19 22:47:34

Lots of places not too far from Guildford station. The restaurant on the top floor of House of Fraser is pleasant. Or there is Bill's on the High St too.

Mamissimo Fri 18-Jan-19 08:39:15

I’m near Guildford too! Love to meet up.

PECS Fri 18-Jan-19 08:55:23

Mondays & Fridays are good for me as I work mornings on the other days.. but could be in Guildford by 1:00? How soon/ far ahead were people thinking? I think 18 to 23 Feb is local half term so avoid that week! What about the week after that? 26 Feb?

Greenfinch Fri 18-Jan-19 09:40:38

I could manage Monday of that week or any day the week after.
House of Fraser sounds good.

PECS Fri 18-Jan-19 09:44:29

Any other takers for 26 Feb at House of Fraser, Guildford? Say 11:30... gives time for people travelling by train enough time to get a post 9:30 ticket &/ or have a quick browse in the shops on their way!

Mamissimo Fri 18-Jan-19 10:05:51

Works well for me ?
