To all of you who are looking for people who live near you - the only way anyone sees your postis to click on the title of the whole conversation - "Where are you?" - and then see that you have mentioned Woolwich, Geneva, Baltimore, Bow, Sunbury.

As there are Gransnet members from Lands End to John O'Groats, and hundreds of posts to read every day, no-one is going to click on a vague post unless they know that it is from someone near them, so they won't know that you are just down the road from them, and you will be disappointed because you don't get any answers.

The secret is to put WHERE YOU ARE into the TITLE so as to catch the attention of others who live there. Why not start again like that?

To be fair, new posters probably won't know how to start a thread and just see 'Where are you' and jump in.

You often see queries/requests on various matters posted in a thread that you just know is going to be overlooked!
