Meet up in St Andrews

I can manage any date in first week of July apart from 3rd. Have we confirmed a date as yet?

Have just received a blank message from Elegran with the heading St Andrews???
Just to confirm...I'd love to come...Can make any day week beginning July 7 and July 15....bit not unfortunately before then. Any use?

Some of us were to be having lunch in St Andrews early next month, and Elizabeth1 was organising it. As you know though, she's has a stroke, and is still in hospital in a rehab unit.
She's gradually making progress, but there are no signs of her being discharged as yet.
Shall we leave our meetup until a later date - one that perhaps could include her in some way? What do you all think?

I wasn’t going to make this meet-up anyway (school sports!), but I’m happy to try and fit in if other arrangements are made. I hope elizabeth1 continues to make progress and gets home very soon.

I didn't know that Elizabeth had a stroke. Glad to hear that that she is making progress. I think it would be best to postpone to a later date when hopefully she will be able to come.

Selfishly, a later date would suit me too, as Ian will be moving into residential care in the next couple of months and then I will be able to attend meet-ups Every cloud has a silver lining.

Thanks for posting Marelli. Seeing as it was going to be Elizabeth's treat it seems a shame to meet up near her but without her.
Get better soon Elizabeth1. She has told me she is getting better slowly so later in the year sounds a possibility.

I was brought up close to St. Andrews but London is a tad far and expensive!

Gosh poor Elizabeth1 it must have been a bad stroke for her still to be in hospital. Very sorry to hear it. She was always such a picture of glowing health. I hope she's back to her old self very soon.

I wasn't able to make this date unfortunately but I do agree trying to make it later when Elizabeth can make it too would be a great idea. Sending Elizabeth hugs and best wishes.

I did PM Elizabeth 1 when Elegran passed on the news, but that was a while ago now. As Jane 10 says, she always looked the picture of health....so I do hope that progress is good

As it happens, I'm staying near St Andrews for a few days. It's very short notice but, if any Gransnetters are free this Friday (July 19) I'd love to meet up for ....coffee/lunch/afternoon tea/walk...?

Oh thats a pity but l am booked up this Friday. Unfortunately l am going to mediation after my husband left and now lives in Brussels. Very sad but let me know if you are back in St Andrews again

Hello all. Elizabeth1 is progressing steadily. She's still in hospital and may be there for a wee while yet, until her mobility improves. In herself she's quite well - but she so wants to come home. She's been able to have home visits once a week for a few hours, and had a wonderful day on Saturday with her twin sister and lots of family members. It was their 70th birthday. I visited her today, and she was showing me photos. It looked really lovely.

Glad to hear she is progressing, albeit slowly, I would never have guessed Elizabeth is seventy!! She looks so young.☺️
