As mentioned on previous thread (Ladies who like to lunch in London) I'm just starting this one.
If anyone fancies suggesting a date for a new Meet, or a venue (though Debenhams is pretty central) it would be lovely to see you all.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I can't make it, I will be at the funeral of someone in my street ... sad

Niobe Sun 15-Sept-19 20:02:06

I am planning to be there.

Charleygirl5 Mon 16-Sept-19 10:49:53

As far as I know, Bellanonna will also be there.

Catterygirl Sun 13-Oct-19 10:55:10

Good morning everyone,

Is another meeting coming up soon?

Bellanonna Fri 18-Oct-19 09:38:13

It’s next Friday, 25th Catterygirl. I won’t be going, but the others will meet in the Debenhams cafe on the 2nd floor at 11.
Hope you can join them, and have a lovely morning.

Catterygirl Fri 18-Oct-19 11:49:34

Thank you Bellanonna. I may well go.

notgoneyet Sun 20-Oct-19 11:35:42

I hope to be coming this time, having missed the last couple. Be nice to see you again Charleygirl; shame Bellanonna can't make it.

Charleygirl5 Sun 20-Oct-19 11:45:34

I will definitely be there. I only hope the Extinction Group will not!!!

Niobe Sun 20-Oct-19 13:52:30

I thought that I was safe for Friday as the other Gran has our grandson on Fridays but have just been asked if I can take him this coming Friday. Sorry ladies but I'm sure you will all have a great time!

Grannyknot Sun 20-Oct-19 15:12:07

Hi everyone, sorry I won't be able to make it. My husband has recently adjusted his work days (cut back) and he is now at home on Fridays and wanting to do stuff with me! I'm sure it will be a passing phase, but for now I am happy to fall in with whatever he has planned for us - last week was Kew Gardens smile.

Enjoy your meetup.

Flossieturner Mon 21-Oct-19 09:35:59

I hope to be there. Will you have anything to recognise you by?

Charleygirl5 Mon 21-Oct-19 09:46:35

I will put a small black bag on the table. I will sit at one of the oval tables for 4 which are recognisable from the entrance. Wear something warm because the air conditioning recently has been fierce. If more than 4 turn up we can when we think everybody has arrived.

I hope to have a better idea nearer the day how many are coming.

Hi
I would very much like to come along but can't manage this Friday as I take care of my elderly parents, will there be another meet up coming soon.

Charleygirl5 Mon 21-Oct-19 15:21:22

meet it roughly every 4-6 weeks at the same place.

HistoryLady Fri 25-Oct-19 21:28:31

I became a granny 6 weeks ago and this is my first visit to Gransnet. I don’t live in London but my granddaughter does, so I am hoping to visit often. I’d love to join a meet in the future.

Bellanonna Fri 25-Oct-19 22:40:13

Welcome to Gransnet HistoryLady. And many congratulations on becoming a Gran
Keep an eye on this thread and you will be able to see when meetings are arranged. Hopefully one will coincide with a visit to see your new granddaughter. Just post on here when you are able to come and you will be given a warm welcome!

Charleygirl5 Fri 25-Oct-19 22:46:20

Four of us had a very pleasant meet up today and for once I was not cold. The aircon was on but turned down to an acceptable level.

We chatted for three hours and will be meeting again on Friday the 29th November at 11am at Debenhams 2nd floor cafe.

notgoneyet Fri 25-Oct-19 23:13:32

Nice to see you again Charleygirl - and great to meet others that I'd not met before. Hopefully I'll be there again on 29th November

Catterygirl Sat 26-Oct-19 14:13:13

Just to say it was good to talk. I hope more can make upcoming meetings.

grannysyb Sat 26-Oct-19 14:18:05

Ooh, might finally be able to meet you all. Couldn't manage yesterday as am only three weeks post op from hip replacement. Hopefully be more mobile by then!

Charleygirl5 Sat 26-Oct-19 14:42:56

grannysyb- I do not think so- you will have to negotiate public transport and surgery will have been around 8 weeks previously Also you will not be at a stage where you can sit in any old chair- you will still need the correct height-please be careful.

Flossieturner Sun 27-Oct-19 09:00:56

I had a lovely welcome from the London Brigade, thank you so much. I find these meetings so enjoyable as I have no friends my own age. I am looking forward to the next meet up.

Bellanonna Sun 27-Oct-19 09:07:14

Hope to meet you Flossieturner

Charleygirl5 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:10:24

Flossieturner I am so pleased to hear that you did not find it too daunting-at least there were only 4 of us and we did have one thing in common!!!

Flossieturner Sun 27-Oct-19 11:45:00

Not daunting at all. Stupidly I had to steel myself to go, I was anxious all the way up on the train. As soon as I saw your smiling faces and relaxed way of speaking, I was totally put ease.

I hope others who suffer from anxiety will take heart and join a group.
