As mentioned on previous thread (Ladies who like to lunch in London) I'm just starting this one.
If anyone fancies suggesting a date for a new Meet, or a venue (though Debenhams is pretty central) it would be lovely to see you all.

Excellent Niobe is Loopylou* coming with you?

Niobe Mon 13-Jan-20 09:48:47

I will be there too. I have missed the last couple of meet ups but should be ok for this Friday.

Charleygirl5 Mon 13-Jan-20 09:27:42

grannysyb yes we will be meeting this Friday at Debenhams. Not in the basement cafe, the other one on either the 2nd or 3rd floor. Would it help if I put my black handbag on the table?

I know I am going as is "Bellanonna" and hopefully there will be others.

Is the meet up for this Friday going ahead? If so, I would like to join you. Will it still be in Debenhams?

Catterygirl Sat 30-Nov-19 16:23:41

That should read meet up, not most up.

Catterygirl Sat 30-Nov-19 16:22:14

Thank you for organising the most up Charleygirl. I hope I can make the next one. I don't use a diary as always forget to open it. I have a calendar with pretty pictures in my bedroom to refer to. It's time to buy the 2020 one.

Five of us had a very pleasant if cold meet up at Debenhams yesterday because of air conditioning blasting down on our heads. I did have words with the manager.

We agreed to meet up again on Friday the 17th January 2020. I hope that is accetable to all.

That should be me, Flossieturner, notgoneyet, Bellanonna, possibly catterygirl meeting tomorrow the 29th at Debenhams Oxford Street at 11 am at the 2nd floor cafe.

Sorry I can't make it as going to see my son. Will miss it especially as I wanted to buy a dressing gown at Debenhams. And see everyone of course.

Charleygirl5 Tue 19-Nov-19 09:36:01

I will definitely be there.

Niobe Tue 19-Nov-19 09:13:03

Unfortunately I will not be at the Central London Meet-up again on the 29 th as other granny has asked if I can have our lovely grandson. However I should make the Wanstead meet-up this Thursday.

Flossieturner Tue 19-Nov-19 09:01:06

I am coming. I really enjoyed the last meet up

notgoneyet Mon 18-Nov-19 11:16:48

Are we all still on in Central London for Friday the 29th November at 11am at Debenhams 2nd floor cafe?

Charleygirl5 Thu 31-Oct-19 19:10:27

grannysyb please do not worry- I will keep you safe and sound! It is not only the getting there, but one has to get home also. That in the past has been my problem but I have now found the 3 lifts at the tube station in central London so that has helped.

notgoneyet Thu 31-Oct-19 18:27:41

What lovely comments Flossie. So glad you enjoyed it after all. And I only knew Charlygirl beforehand, so was pleased to make two more new friends in yourself and Catterygirl. See you next time hopefully.

grannysyb Sun 27-Oct-19 12:44:18

I managed a short walk this morning, perhaps I was being a bit hopeful about the next meetup, still onwards and upwards and hope to meet you in 2020!

Charleygirl5 Sun 27-Oct-19 12:31:47

Oh Flossieturner I am so sorry to hear that you felt that way, steeling yourself to meet us lot. We are not all ogres on GN.

You at least know a couple of others you met at another meetup who could not come to ours on Friday but hopefully will come next month. There are 6-7 regulars although we have not been meeting for long, just a year.

Flossieturner Sun 27-Oct-19 11:45:00

Not daunting at all. Stupidly I had to steel myself to go, I was anxious all the way up on the train. As soon as I saw your smiling faces and relaxed way of speaking, I was totally put ease.

I hope others who suffer from anxiety will take heart and join a group.

Charleygirl5 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:10:24

Flossieturner I am so pleased to hear that you did not find it too daunting-at least there were only 4 of us and we did have one thing in common!!!

Bellanonna Sun 27-Oct-19 09:07:14

Hope to meet you Flossieturner

Flossieturner Sun 27-Oct-19 09:00:56

I had a lovely welcome from the London Brigade, thank you so much. I find these meetings so enjoyable as I have no friends my own age. I am looking forward to the next meet up.

Charleygirl5 Sat 26-Oct-19 14:42:56

grannysyb- I do not think so- you will have to negotiate public transport and surgery will have been around 8 weeks previously Also you will not be at a stage where you can sit in any old chair- you will still need the correct height-please be careful.

grannysyb Sat 26-Oct-19 14:18:05

Ooh, might finally be able to meet you all. Couldn't manage yesterday as am only three weeks post op from hip replacement. Hopefully be more mobile by then!

Catterygirl Sat 26-Oct-19 14:13:13

Just to say it was good to talk. I hope more can make upcoming meetings.

notgoneyet Fri 25-Oct-19 23:13:32

Nice to see you again Charleygirl - and great to meet others that I'd not met before. Hopefully I'll be there again on 29th November
