Im reasonably new to Durham and am looking for new friends,,lets know if anyone would like to meet up?

Im so sorry for your loss. It sounds like its a dreadful time for you.
Gillybob and myself met up and had a good natter about things in general but we were the only ones able to make it this time.
If you would like to arrange a further meet up at a future date , convenient to you that would be great.

I have not been on Gransnet for a bit so have just seen this thread.
I live in Newcastle and would love to join you all, but unfortunately cannot make it for that day. My youngest granddaughter has just got very good grades on her GCSE's so I am treating her to an expensive hair cut as she has worked very hard.

Hi everyone. I was really looking forward to this meet up. Unfortunately my MIL has died and I am now in the throes of helping arrange the funeral ext so doubt I'll be able to make it. There are various meetings planned with funeral directors, ministers, family ext.

I was so looking forward to putting faces to the names I've 'met' on gransnet. Please keep me in the loop for next time if I don't get there tomorrow.

Another northern Gransnetter who lives south of the river. I can certainly travel to Newcastle, but maybe there are enough of us south of the river to have the occasional meet-up there.

Sadly, I can’t make the 30th as I can’t do Thursdays or Fridays. If others are arranged in the future for earlier in the week, I’ll always be there unless I’m away on holiday (next one January).

I’d love to come too if I can! I’ve been waiting for a local meet up so good for Diane227 for sorting this out. Is the coffee shop the one coffee next to the Lighting section in John Lewis? Sounds good. There are usually plenty of room on the right up side

Friday the 30th looks okay to me. There's nothing on my calendar. 11:30 will give me time enough if I catch the 9 bus. Looking forward to meeting up.

The 30th August would be good for me. Would be lovely to meet up with people we 'know' through Gransnet. There is a coffee shop/restaurant on the first floor which does everything from breakfast bacon butties/morning coffee/tea and cake/lunch ext. That is the only one I know of but there are others. Think there is one a floor up where furniture dept. is as well. Hope everyone can come.

Can someone advise the best coffee shop though please because im not sure where they are in the building.

Any date after the 11th August will suit me fine. I need a good hour travelling time, so late morning/lunch time would be about right. I'll look forward to meeting everyone.

We're not planning to go away in August, but I have things to do on the 1st and 12th.
We just need one person to organise it!
