Good morning all!

It looks like the best date would be Friday 17th January, probably at the Concert Hall Cafe/Bar.

I have used my charm and obtained the phone number of the Catering Manager, to see if we can reserve some tables, as there will probably be twelve of us, if everyone comes.
They don't usually allow reservations, but I will have ago!

I just need to get a hold of him!

Updated list:
Marydoll and........

Just keeping the thread going.

Kalu Sun 15-Dec-19 14:01:19

Just caught up.

Well done Marydoll and many thanks for organising this

Woohoo. 12.30 for 1.00

Next on the agenda......ID?. Some article of recognition?Would be so embarrassing to sit with a table of strangers with the introduction of, hello, I’m Kalu!??

Marydoll Sun 15-Dec-19 14:33:44

Do you want name badges made !!
Just like running a course in school, I used to be good at that.
Making the badges that is, not so good at running courses!!! ?

Kalu Sun 15-Dec-19 15:08:09

Oh yes! What do we need to do?

Marydoll Sun 15-Dec-19 15:12:31

Well we could have badges with our GN names [provided by me] with a space for your RL name, which you can add yourself on the day , if you wish.

Does that sound like a plan?

All sounding good.

It's great that everything is coming together for the Glasgow meet. The Concert Hall is a good venue as it is so central - only hope the weather doesn't let us down although I think we are a tough lot!! The badges are a great idea Marydoll as, although there were only six of us last time, I cannot remember anyone's RL name.

Kalu Sun 15-Dec-19 17:32:54

Sounds like a good plan Marydoll ??

Having names is an excellent idea, especially as I have a memory like a sieve now!

Grammaretto Sun 15-Dec-19 19:00:13

The embarrassing thing for me is that even after I have learned the real names I still think of the GN ones, so maybe the badges would help. Thanks Weegies! wink

Kalu Sun 15-Dec-19 19:14:17

jacq10. To quote Billy Connolly, ‘there is nothing wrong with our weather....you just have to wear the right clothes’?

dragonfly46 Sun 15-Dec-19 19:17:47

Wish I lived closer - sounds like so much fun!

Marydoll Sun 15-Dec-19 19:24:55

Dragonfly, you would be so welcome. ?

Grammaretto, nobody does it better than the Weegies, well apart from Elegran. She is the Meet up supremo!!!?

Urmstongran Sun 15-Dec-19 19:37:46

I think you will all have the most WONDERFUL time! It all sounds such fun!

Urmstongran Sun 15-Dec-19 19:39:26

P.s. how sad am I? I’ve read every thread and I’m not even coming!
?

jacq10 Sun 15-Dec-19 19:45:30

I often quote that one myself Marydoll but Billy Connelly hasn't been stuck for over an hour on the A9 on a snowy December afternoon. I could tell a tale of a hole burnt through the floor of the bus involving an elderly lady with caustic soda in a leaking plastic bottle involving all passengers taken off the bus with police, ambulance and fire brigade in attendance but believe it or not this hasn't put me off bus travel so unless lightning strikes twice I'll be with you all.

Kalu Sun 15-Dec-19 19:50:25

Great link Marydoll. DH often sérénades me with that one.....aye, right?

What a pity you can’t actually be there with us Dragonfly and Urmstongran you would be warmly welcomed.

Marydoll Sun 15-Dec-19 20:04:06

What a happy thread!!!
It's going to be a great meet up!

Grammaretto Sun 15-Dec-19 20:23:04

Great link Marydoll can you borrow her mic? grin

Marydoll Sun 15-Dec-19 20:36:03

Gramamretto, I have never needed a mike! wink

Fur a wee wummin, ah huv 'n awfy loud voice!!!!

Urmstongran Sun 15-Dec-19 20:48:27

?

Grammaretto Sun 15-Dec-19 20:49:48

grin grin
I know, but there are a lot of us, is all I meant. and some o' us are a wee bitty deef

Marydoll Sun 15-Dec-19 21:05:03

If three hundred weans, plus teachers and parents can hear me in an assembly hall without a mike, I'm sure I can manage to project my voice for sixteen auld, deif, buddies! grin
I was infamous!

Elegran Sun 15-Dec-19 21:45:02

But don't forget all the other weegies gathered in the Concert Hall cafe necking coffee and cake and talking full volume at the tops of their not inconsiderable voices - you will have competition!
