We could get a date set for a Burns lunch, and a list started by the New Year. Are there any dates that are NOT possible for those who would like to come?

Elegran Mon 06-Jan-20 18:55:38

I have emailed them to ask for a booking for 12 (approximately) at 1 pm on the 20th, as that seems the best day for everyone. When I get a reply I shall post on the thread.

I will have to confirm numbers with them a couple of days before the booking.

Elegran Mon 06-Jan-20 18:56:43

I have asked whether they can have haggis neeps and tatties on the menu, as it is so near to the 25th.

baubles Mon 06-Jan-20 19:13:57

Thanks for your patience Elegran grin

Jangran99 Mon 06-Jan-20 21:45:44

If Monday the 20th suits everyone else then go for it. Unfortunately that is out for me (Mum's anniversary, 6 bros and sisters get together!) I know how impossible it is to find that one magic date Elegran

Elegran Mon 06-Jan-20 23:13:12

Jangran In the scribbles on my magic A4 calendar, it seemed that you were also available on the 20th and that somehow we had managed to get a day that suited everyone, but on looking again I see that it is not to be! I am sorry about that - but there will be another meet up in a month or so, and I am sure we will see you then. Have a nice time at the get-together. We will think of you.

Thanks Elegran, can't be helped, I'm sure you will all have a lovely meet and meal. We took some English friends there recently whilst sightseeing and had lovely food which made its appearance on FB!!
See you at the Glesca Grannies rerr terr!

I am an idiot. I went to put the lunch in my diary and found that, d'oh, I'd completely forgotten that I'd signed up for classes on Mondays at 1.30. The 20th will only be week 2 so I'm loath to miss it. Very sorry. See you next time.

Elegran Tue 07-Jan-20 10:16:39

Oh, yes, you don't want to miss week two - you won't be far enough into it all to easily pick up again. Next time!

Marelli Wed 08-Jan-20 12:05:55

I can't come ?. It's DD's ex mother-in-law's funeral, and I must go to it.
Ina will still come though, and although Lurkio has a hospital appointment at 10.10 in Kirkcaldy, she's hoping to get to Edinburgh in time.
I'm so disappointed to miss it. ☹️

Elegran Wed 08-Jan-20 12:41:04

Oh dear, Marelli

cascats Wed 08-Jan-20 13:51:56

The 20th is good for me, thank you Elegran
I'd like haggis, neeps and tatties as my main course, please.

Is lunch at 1.00pm?

GeminiJen Fri 10-Jan-20 21:02:04

20th good for me too, Elegran.
Just checking....Do we need to commit to menu choices in advance?

Baggs Sat 11-Jan-20 09:01:42

I won't be coming on the 20th.

Elegran Sat 11-Jan-20 11:54:28

Thanks for letting me know, Baggs. No need to choose from the menu in advance, GeminiJen

EllieB52 Mon 13-Jan-20 10:35:43

Only just seen this after my manic Christmas and new year! Is it in Edinburgh? I’m generally free except for 23rd.

Katek Mon 13-Jan-20 10:37:18

Just caught up with this thread! I could have managed 31st but not 20th unfortunately. ?? Sorry I won’t be seeing you all - seems ages since we last met other than unexpectedly meeting Cascats on the train! Hopefully make the next one

EllieB52 Mon 13-Jan-20 10:41:47

Should have read further! I can make 20th if you have any spaces left!

Elegran Mon 13-Jan-20 10:45:51

Yes, EllieB there are spaces left. Katek you seem fated to miss meetups! See you in February (Maybe)

Katek Mon 13-Jan-20 11:16:02

What’s happening in February??

Elegran Mon 13-Jan-20 11:21:48

Don't know yet, but something will happen.

Kalu Mon 13-Jan-20 11:33:20

The 20th is DH’s birthday. I won’t make it Elegran but I look forward to meeting you in Glasgow.

Elegran Mon 13-Jan-20 11:56:32

See you then, Kalu
