I thought how lovely would it be to get to meet gransnetters that have been so amazing and supportive

Reading other meet up threads I thought I might like to organise a London meet

Not sure what you might think of that

Thank you for that- I did ask Alexa but she pointed me in the direction of Victoria station. I have never been to Hackney and could not get there without mega difficulty anyway.

Will see you there Lemsip.

Great, see you there.
Theodore, nothing to stop you suggesting Victoria park meetup as well sometime. I will look into how to get there.

ElusiveButterfly, hope you can go too.

I just had a look at House of Fraser tea room. Terrible reviews. Very overpriced and small portions apparently so wouldn’t recommend. John Lewis sounds the easiest option. I used to eat at The Place to Eat at Peter Jones in Chelsea and was happy with the choice.

I personally think we should start off in John Lewis- if prices are horrendous we do not have to have lunch there but Oxford Street appears to be a reasonable place for most folk to get to.

I personally would not consider East London. but I am only one person., it may suit others.

See you Friday 6th May, all being well.

I only had one grandparent, my nan and when i was small we went to Victoria Park.
I was very young but never forgot, probably because it was the only time she ever did take me out.

just for future ideas maybe, how about near farringdon station which now has step free access.
there is the sir john oldcastle wetherspoon very nearby, farringdon road entry in greville street.
about 3 mins from station.

loopyloo Thu 05-May-22 14:38:57

Is anyone planning on being there tomorrow?

Charleygirl5 Thu 05-May-22 15:45:46

loopyloo we are meeting at 11. am on the 4th floor at the cafe there. There should be 5 of us I know of who are going.

It is easy to find, it is at the top of the escalator and it is all open plan although small. They rake cards but not money.

Fanny hell will have frozen over before my photo is taken anywhere.

loopyloo Thu 05-May-22 16:06:58

See you, Charleygirl!

Niobe Thu 05-May-22 16:16:56

I will be there too! But not in the photie!

Charleygirl5 Thu 05-May-22 19:31:02

Niobe it may well be a photo of an empty seating area with used cups!

Niobe Thu 05-May-22 23:51:15

Hi all. I see the last London (John Lewis) meet up was back in May. Is anyone ready for another one there? I missed the last as I forgot to look at the Forums to see if the London bunch was meeting up again, but I’d love to come to another one now.

Charleygirl5 Tue 27-Sep-22 15:17:40

notgoneyet it would be good to meet fairly soon- bus and tube strikes are a problem at present.

creativeness Mon 10-Oct-22 12:56:40

Hi might be ok to come to this if transport running ok. Also hoping it’s fairly central London would be good Carole

Charleygirl5 Mon 10-Oct-22 15:52:15

creativeness Nothing is happening in the near future mainly because of the strikes. It will probably be John Lewis Oxford Street but once transport has decided when it is running I will let everybody know.
