I really enjoyed our meet ups before Covid. At present I’m not getting out enough. Sadly John Lewis is no longer in Brum, gone, scones and all.
Please post if you are interested in a coffee or lunch meet up. I would love to meet old friends and make new ones. Nonnie, Tegan, Blinko, Hellobaby, I hope we’ll meet again - soon.

Only just spotted this thread.

I would be very interested in joining you on your next date if that is ok, part time working permitting.

Elrel, I was gutted to not be able to attend. Maybe a term time one next time may work out better for some of us? I really want to meet some fellow gransnetters, so although I have missed this opportunity, hopefully something can be arranged for the not too distant future, here's hoping, lovely grans!!

I'm another one who would be interested in a term-time meet-up, school holidays are taken up with childminding still 🙂

I didn't know this was on! I said on earlier posts I would like to come but must have missed the firm date being agreed. I hope you had a lovely time. Sorry to have missed you all. Next time someone please message me.

Lovely to see two grans I had met several years ago and meet two more for the first time. We hope to do this again, perhaps in a couple of months. probably on a different day of the week and during term time. The Exchange was easy to reach and spacious. After refreshments and wide ranging chat we were offered an impromptu tour of the vaults. We saw walls of safe deposit boxes and a fur store, a part of the solidly built basement was a location for the police station in the first series of Line of Duty. For me a bonus of the morning was that I now feel confident to use the Metro. Looking forward to our next get together!

Yes I agree it was lovely to meet you all. Sorry I had to leave early for dog minding duties. She wasn't at all interested in going outside due to the rain.

I am gutted to say I cannot come today, there is a grandparenting issue I am needed for unfortunately. I hope you all have fun, and we can arrange another one soon, for those of us who have had to bail on you all. Love to you allxx

That's a shame Monk, it would have been lovely to meet you. Hopefully next time.

We use the Exchange Cafe when visiting the S.Hall. It is 5 paces away from the Metro stop. Very nice; quiet, pleasant. Not a big menu - toasties, sausage rolls etc. but nice atmosphere.

Elrel Mon 05-Feb-24 17:36:22

Hope to meet some fellow grans at 11 on Tuesday 13th February at The Exchange opposite the library and repertory theatre on Broad Street, Birmingham.
Thanks Hellobaby1 - they do an interesting range of activities. I assume that the robots will be in a separate area from the main café!

monk08 Mon 05-Feb-24 08:57:30

Would love to join you but being half term don't know what granny duties are required.
Enjoy your meet up.

Hellobaby1 Sun 04-Feb-24 22:27:56

Looking at The Exchange website it seems there is a children’s robot making session on at 11am on the 13th
