Any of our Gransnet family in these areas of Derbyshire.
Meeting up for coffee would be great.I don’t know of
Gransnetters who meet up in Derbyshire.

There’s got to be Gransnetters in Derbyshire, surely! Buxton ,anyone? or a Local Gransnetters…. Help!

I live in Sheffield but Bakewell is doable once we get the winter out of the way. Ashford in the Water has a nice, if small tearoom.

I live in Sheffield too and Bakewell is not far away. I agree with Greyduster let’s get winter over with first!

I'm at the top end of Derbyshire and DD is in Sheffield. How about Castleton or Hathersage?

Greyduster Sat 04-Jan-25 15:08:05

I’m only ever go through Hathersage on my way to Ladybower now, but it used to be a pain to park there.

Sounds like we might have a plan.I am in Matlock area but can travel to Eyam ,Grindelford area. Weather too bad to travel at the moment.

Grannytomany Wed 08-Jan-25 21:46:03

I’m near to both Bakewell and Matlock.

Greyduster Wed 08-Jan-25 22:34:06

Here’s to better weather then!

JPB123 Sat 25-Jan-25 16:28:54

Grannytomany, perhaps we could meet up for coffee and a chat..it would be nice to meet other Gransnetters.

Having been snowed up for nearly a week, I agree to delayed meeting up!

A couple of miles beyond Hathersage is a small garden centre with a nice cafe. Open every day and has a car park.

What about Chatsworth garden centre for a meet up?

JPB123 Sun 26-Jan-25 10:31:35

Madmeg, I agree,no use meeting before the weather improves.
Look forward to then!

Greyduster Sun 26-Jan-25 10:53:48

Any of the above are good for me. One thing I would say about Chatsworth garden centre is that they get coach parties there which tends to make it busy in the spring and summer, but it would be the same wherever you go in the Peak District.

Stay safe everyone …..yet another strong wind and oh,that rain!

I'd like to join in, could get to any of these places. I'm new to the area, don't know anyone! What about a date in May, when weather might be better?
