Very very sad news, but it looks like the body of a man found here on the beach this afternoon is that of the second swimmer who disappeared on Christmas Day in Budleigh.

Yes, at least the families can now bring them both home and say their farewells to them.

And that is important.

This was our seafront yesterday. The jet power of the water is amazing.

The death was very sad but the family are probably glad they can bring him back home. I had an uncle who drowned, out at sea on a ship not swimming on the coast. My gran and granddad always had that hope he'd come back as there was no body. They never got over it. My dad who was in the Royal Navy said there was no hope because of where it happened but gran had this hope that he was on an island somewhere waiting to be rescued.

The storm has brought the body back to shore, one month on.

We have a collection of wellies in the garage!
Green, black, blue, red, passed down.

Our youngest DGC is a size 5 (adult) now.
Really need a sort out.

My husband is a hoarder strangely he's never boarded wellies. Might be connected to youngest sons smelly feet. We used to joke by the time he'd outgrown them the military could use them to deter invaders.

I daren't go in the garage, goodness knows what's in there.

Actually the shoes don't look too bad now.

I haven't got his wellies here, shoes currently cleaned and drying. Here's hoping.

Is four days childcare worth a pair of shoes?

Looks like I might be ok for trains tomorrow, they aren't stopping at Teignmouth or Dawlish apparently and there are speed restrictions. Fingers crossed.

I am reliably informed (!) that all trains are having to use one track currently hence not stopping at those two stations but might be back to normal running tomorrow.

Do we REALLY need all these new houses? I don’t know anyone who can’t find a house for sale. On the other hand, the new developments seem to fill up quickly. I just wonder where everyone is coming from?

That's what my husband says ... and what will happen when the current population 'bulge' has gone through? I believe the numbers are dropping already but, as always, the government (whichever one) is the last to react!

Lovely here today. Not sure what the seas doing but I've just got back from the park with GS and it's lovely. Not raining but he loved the puddles, I might be in trouble when his parents see his shoes🥴

We were in the café on the seafront. It was like being on the ferry in a storm because the waves were crashing the windows.
I couldn't work out why the dogs were desperate for a drink of water on the way home, I guess they'd swallowed salt off the spray and didn't like the taste!

Oreo I can't say what I hate as it got deleted. Apparently my experience can't be said. Funny really as people often say negative things about other parts of the country.
