I hope that all Gransnetters in Sussex know by now that 2 Gransnet Local sites are currently active: Brighton & Hove, and Worthing.
I edit both, and I'm about to embark on regular coffee meet-ups to get the social side of things up and running.
If you are within reach of either Brighton & Hove or Worthing (or both) then I'd love to meet you at one (or both!) of these upcoming events:

and/or

Just pop over to one (or both grin) of these forums to let me know that you're joining us smile

Just a little 'bump' ... in case Sussex Gransnetters are now home from a day by the sea or the countryside smile

Well, we managed three (+ me) for the Worthing coffee morning today.
The first Brighton one is in 2 weeks time (see forum links above).
Are we Gransnetters disproportionately under-represented in Sussex (and the south in general)?
If you're local but not interested in meeting up for a coffee, then let me know what would appeal to you - if anything.
Thanks, Anna,

Hello NannaAnna, I am an East Sussex person but Brighton is too far for me. I wonder if there is a Tunbridge Wells meet. Any ideas.

Hi Brendawymms I've just posted a new forum thread about meet-ups smile

Anncdw Tue 26-Nov-13 00:56:20

Tun ridge wells would be good for me too smile

Brendawymms Tue 26-Nov-13 20:25:12

Is there going to be a Sussex meet. Lewes or Tunbridge wells.!

NannaAnna Wed 27-Nov-13 00:43:26

Hi Brendawymms and Anncdw. Well as Tunbridge Wells is in Kent, it's probably not the best location for a Sussex meet-up wink

As to Sussex meet-ups, this is how responses are coming along so far:
www.gransnet.com/forums/meetups/1201319-Sussex-meet-up-Lets-make-it-happen
It looks like Lewes or Haywards Heath are emerging as the most convenient locations.
Not an overwhelming response, but potentially enough of us to make it viable I think.
Can anyone recommend somewhere good for coffee and lunch in either town? I lived in Haywards Heath but moved away in 2009, so I'm not very up to date on what's there now. I used to go to the original Bill's in Lewes and that would be my suggestion if Lewes was selected, but it used to be very busy, often with queues. Does anyone know if it's still as busy, and if so do you have alternative suggestions?
NB: We'd be looking at a date in January now.

There is a good eatery in the centre of Lewes, can't for the life of me remember its name. It's nearly opposite the main antique shops on the same side as Harvey's and a couple of hundred yards further on. Front is slightly set back. When I find toge name will let you know. Have sent a pm to Ann

A meet-up sounds lovely, but unfortunately I work full-time in a school so wouldn't be able to join in, what a shame sad....unless you want to make it a weekend?
Am in Ansty, just outside of Haywards Heath, so that would be my vote if I was able to make it. The Bay Tree in The Orchards is always nice.

NannaAnna Wed 27-Nov-13 23:54:47

Hello gratefulgran54. A Saturday is certainly an option for me. Glad to hear the Bay Tree is still there. I used to pop in quite regularly when I lived in H.Heath.
Brendawymms - I know where you mean.
I will put together a new forum post as soon as I have time, and PM everyone who has posted so far. Hopefully we can get this organised smile
Anna.

NannaAnna - has this "meet up" already happened or am I in time to register my interest?

NannaAnna Fri 10-Jan-14 14:24:10

yogagran I am attempting to get back on track with organising a meet-up on the thread below. It would be good to see you again smile
