I think the Duchess of Cambridge is doing really well.

some pictures here. And a speech.

POGS Thu 13-Sept-12 19:22:08

I agree. She is a natural and I thought her speech wasn't quite so 'plummy' I bet she was nervous.

Good for Britain I think.

Ella46 Thu 13-Sept-12 19:22:18

I do too! smile

johanna Thu 13-Sept-12 19:24:03

Agreed Jofur
The woman seems a complete natural doing a job she was not born into.

Anagram Thu 13-Sept-12 19:30:28

Good point, johnanna. And she is so likeable!

Ella46 Thu 13-Sept-12 19:32:56

Yes, she seems perfect for the job envy

merlotgran Thu 13-Sept-12 19:35:07

Fabulous dress. She looks amazing.

annodomini Thu 13-Sept-12 19:37:48

And so cool-looking in what must have been great heat.

vampirequeen Thu 13-Sept-12 20:00:38

Does that mean any negative comments are banned? I don't mind as long as I know.

Oldgreymare Thu 13-Sept-12 20:01:13

Thanks JO4 altho' not a huge fan of the older members of the Royal Family, I do think that the 'young 'uns' are far more in touch!

Lilygran Thu 13-Sept-12 21:03:56

She's a really good role model in every way.

I think Kate is even bonnier when she puts her hair up. Makes her look distinguished smile

Sadly the French paparazzi don't know when to stopangry

all credit to the British newspapers who have all refused to publish the photos.

You'd think the royals would have understood about the depradations of paparazzi by now. If I were Kate (thank gods I'm not), I wouldn't go outside topless even on private land because of what paparazzi are known to be like.

Queenie wouldn't do such a thing. Not that I'm suggesting she'd want to, but she wouldn't even if she did want to. She keeps her private life completely private.

The younguns could learn a thing or two from her.

Lilygran Fri 14-Sept-12 09:56:22

My first thought was that maybe it was unwise to take her top off outside, knowing there might be some reptile up a tree somewhere with a long lens. Then I thought, anyone, however high profile, is entitled to assume they are private in a private place. Harry is different because he was in an hotel in a large group of people he didn't know. I thought the French had laws against this?

JO4 Fri 14-Sept-12 10:07:31

Was it Closer magazine that published the picture of her with her skirt blowing up at the back, showing her pants?

When in France - Beware Closer mag! grin

Grannyknot Fri 14-Sept-12 10:11:31

Nice, I like it. Great photos. Not sure about the 'bodice' of the dress - LOL that belongs on the funny old saying thread. grin But they're a great couple.

Movedalot Fri 14-Sept-12 10:11:52

Maybe she should have thought about this but what a shame. We have several threads which mention the ways people find to be nasty but I really couldn't do the job these paps do. How can they look at themselves in the mirror?

Grannyknot Fri 14-Sept-12 10:12:09

Must hasten to add, I'm replying to the original post ...

JO4 Fri 14-Sept-12 12:06:01

I think she's pregnant.

The belt on that pleated skirt dress seems to sit just a little above the waistline.

JO4 Fri 14-Sept-12 12:06:56

The bodice on the dress reminded me of the "headlights" on the wedding dress. Same designer!

Anagram Fri 14-Sept-12 12:09:57

Bags! 'thank gods'? confused

I don't think she's pregnant. Not yet.

Bags Fri 14-Sept-12 12:13:48

There's more than one, nag – well, so we're told wink.

Bags Fri 14-Sept-12 12:14:19

What I want to know is why isn't she pregnant yet?
