One isn't supposed to have thoughts like this

...still less to admit to them, but I did, and here it is:

Cameron reminds me of a piglet in this picture. No, honestly, I'm not given to cheek-pinching, but the temptation to poke his face is strong!

Don't worry; I'll probably never meet him.

Greatnan Fri 05-Oct-12 09:04:40

This is a bit unfair to pigs, which might be plump but are not, as far as I know, smug and self-satisfied.
(Your are awful - but I like you)..

absentgrana Fri 05-Oct-12 09:08:16

I think piglets are cute. Mr Cameron isn't.

Bags Fri 05-Oct-12 09:21:38

Well, I was thinking more of the hogs that ate the farmer in Oregon... that kind of piglet.

absentgrana Fri 05-Oct-12 10:07:39

Well that wasn't cute. He has definitely got plumper hasn't he? Still, a long way to go to match Eric Pickles.

FlicketyB Fri 05-Oct-12 16:15:57

Didnt a comedian get into trouble for describing Cameron as a robot made from ham?

crimson Fri 05-Oct-12 17:10:19

I'm ashamed to admit this, as a lifelong Labour voter, but I'm quite fond of 'Dave' [even more so now the party are sticking the knife in him]blush. Do believe he's a nice guy. I liked John Major, too at the time when they only chose him as leader when they thought they were going to lose the election and thought he would make a good scapegoat.

Greatnan Fri 05-Oct-12 17:17:04

Crimson - he might be a nice guy, but he is allowing policies that will make life incredibly hard for many vulnerable people. By their deeds shall ye know them.....................

MaggieP Fri 05-Oct-12 18:16:22

Dave had been disappointing but let us not forget what the last party in power left as a legacy! They cannot now expect to sweep all that under the carpet as if it didn't happen.... The trouble is that every party in Opposition thinks they are the saviours of the rest of us.

Greatnan Fri 05-Oct-12 18:21:45

Maggie - I don't reserve my contempt for the Tories - I hate New Labour as well! Blair is a self-serving, greedy, lying hypocrite. Hm... much like the new lot then.

whitewave Fri 05-Oct-12 18:38:55

crimson I am not sure that many in the backbenches of the Tories and a lot of other people who come into contact with "call me Dave" would agree with you. He is known for his arrogance, and failure to communicate with anyone other than those within his very narrow circle of cronies largely ex-school friends

absentgrana Fri 05-Oct-12 19:10:44

How old is David Cameron? There's no problem about someone keeping in touch with former school friends, even a Prime Minister, but surely we all move on from there and expand our horizons.

crimson Fri 05-Oct-12 19:17:43

The nail in the coffin of me having any trust in politicians of any party came when the Libs stopped being the Jiminy Crickets of politics and became as two faced and deceiteful as the rest of them. I seem to be in a political void at the moment.

JessM Fri 05-Oct-12 19:22:11

Dithering Dave is cycling less these days.
I am wondering why on earth any company would risk investing in bidding to build a new power station in the UK. Did we win it? Did we not? Is it safe to start digging the foundations?

specki4eyes Fri 05-Oct-12 21:20:35

The comedian Sean Lock described Dave as looking as though he's been under the school caretaker's floor polisher. For some reason I understood what he meant and also found it hysterically funny. As is the 'robot made from ham' quote.

vampirequeen Sat 06-Oct-12 09:19:16

Dave might have inherited financial difficulties from the previous government but let's remember it was Dave's chums, the bankers, who caused those difficulties.

Greatnan Sat 06-Oct-12 09:20:29

And as for 'We are all in it together....' Words fail me.

JessM Sat 06-Oct-12 09:26:56

Quite great, I think that was Ed M's key point.
Dithering Dave always looks to me like he should be wearing an 18th C wig. Would have suited him perfectly.

absentgrana Sat 06-Oct-12 09:27:46

Rubbish, Greatnan, words never fail you. smile

This morning's prounouncement that the health sec is in favour of reducing abortion limit to 12 weeks took my breath away. We looked him up on wiki. Another tax dodger it seems. (Hunt)

absentgrana Sat 06-Oct-12 09:29:14

JessM As mentioned somewhere else, Jeremy Hunt is also a believer in homeopathy. shock

Bags Sat 06-Oct-12 10:03:12

Somebody on Twitter reckons Hunt only supported the call for a twelve week limit on abortion because he knows it will fail and wanted to pay lip service to his party's right wing. What a git.

absentgrana Sat 06-Oct-12 12:24:47

Jeremy Hunt should stick to dancing on his specially sprung ballroom floor.

Greatnan Sat 06-Oct-12 14:44:05

Absent - I can't use the appropriate language on such a refined forum!

nightowl Fri 12-Oct-12 22:14:52

Poor old Dave does have an unfortunate face. A child of a friend of mine said he looked exactly like the Fat Controller - I can't think of him as anything else now grin
