William Roache thinks abuse victims might bring it on themselves - pardon me??

I know he has some bizarre views, and as well as defending celeb abusers, William Roache has now announced that sexual abuse victims are being punished for previous sins. I think this 80-year old philanderer needs to keep his big mouth closed if all he can come out with is rubbish like that. I believe he is out of the country at the moment. I wouldn't like to be him when his plane touches back down in the UK!

What complete twaddle he spouts!

soop Tue 19-Mar-13 11:11:58

Dipstick!

Mishap Tue 19-Mar-13 11:12:15

Quite quite bonkers!!!

This is along the lines of Glen Hoddle saying a few years ago that disabled people must have sinned in a past life. It's fine to have a belief in reincarnation, but surely you keep your thoughts to yourself when it comes to subjects as sensitive as sexual abuse and disability.

My first GC was born with a deformity at the time that Glen Hoddle made his statement and a difficult, indeed heartbreaking time for us all ,especially my DinL was made a hundred times worse by his unfeeling comment.

moomin Tue 19-Mar-13 11:22:06

Where is this p**t coming from? Deeply offensive.

glammanana Tue 19-Mar-13 11:24:34

What a complete idiot this man is.

ninathenana Tue 19-Mar-13 11:28:07

Totally agree with all that's been said

whenim64 Tue 19-Mar-13 11:42:03

What puzzles me is the own goal he has scored......if what he says were to have any foundation, wouldn't he be terrified about what's in store for him in his next life??? Or is he saying that he can prevent it because he spreads love? He certainly spreads something, and it's not love! Wassock!

absent Tue 19-Mar-13 11:51:15

Silly old fool. I'd never heard of him. Was he any good as an actor? Why on earth would anybody bother to interview someone who is certainly a has-been and is probably a never wozzer simply because he has bizarre "religious" views? No victims of sexual or other abuse should even begin to feel upset by this plonker's absurd comments. He isn't worth the bother.

whenim64 Tue 19-Mar-13 11:55:12

It's Ken Barlow from Corrie, Absent. Not a great actor - he's only ever had the one job grin

absent Tue 19-Mar-13 12:06:45

when I understand he was an actor on Coronation Street, but I've never seen it. It hardly qualifies him as an expert on the subject of abuse or reincarnation, for that matter.

whenim64 Tue 19-Mar-13 12:19:44

I don't imagine he's an expert on anything at all Absent hmm

Lilygran Tue 19-Mar-13 12:24:35

Wasn't he once voted the most boring man on TV?

Ana Tue 19-Mar-13 12:31:35

And didn't he claim damages for that, saying it was a slur on his character? hmm

sunseeker Tue 19-Mar-13 12:37:00

When I first heard this I thought I had misheard - I can't believe that someone would be so crass as to make such a remark. I vaguely recall him in Corrie as I used to watch it when I was much younger. As for defending pop stars who are accused of being sexual predators, perhaps its because of his own activities.

Seems he only opens his mouth to change foot!

feetlebaum Tue 19-Mar-13 12:39:02

"William Roache thinks..." Thinking is not his long suite, obviously when you consider "his interest in astrology which he learned by taking a correspondence course from the Faculty of Astrological Studies"

What a twonk! Duh...

feetlebaum Tue 19-Mar-13 12:42:56

... a further quote, from a local newspaper in 2006 - "few of his fans know that the actor who plays Ken, William Roache, has a life-long interest in all things psychic and supernatural."

Says it all really.

bluebell Tue 19-Mar-13 13:29:27

Life long supporter of Conservative Party also

glassortwo Tue 19-Mar-13 13:32:16

What a plonker.

Notso Tue 19-Mar-13 13:32:28

Horrible man.

gillybob Tue 19-Mar-13 13:45:03

Isn't ha (and his son) a member of some crazy cult or other? Might have got that wrong but I am sure I read it somewhere.

News flash on Sky news just said that he has apologised for his comments. Well it's too late matey ! Idiot.

whenim64 Tue 19-Mar-13 13:48:28

Dn't worry, folks - he's just been on TV telling us we misunderstood him!! Even the reporter was moved to advise 'you heard what he has said, if you think you misunderstood.....' Idiot!

Marelli Tue 19-Mar-13 14:00:53

What an a**e! The man is off his chump. angry
