... And whether we like it or not.

When you hear them on the radio talking about offering euthanasia to terminally ill kids, we should thank God for every wrinkle and age spot we've been given the chance to gain.

We should shut up about it. hmmangrysad

I'm counting my blessings most of the time, you're the one who's brought it up! grin

Aka Sun 16-Feb-14 12:32:55

Who's offering euthanasia to terminally ill kids? I haven't heard any news today.

Nonnie Sun 16-Feb-14 12:41:58

I think it's in Belgium Aka

here (from 29.38)

Thank you Ana

Abso-bloomin-lutely!! I also think we are a lot less hung up on all the "seven signs of ageing" guff than advertisers etc imagine.

Agus Sun 16-Feb-14 15:12:30

My health and fitness is much more important to me. The inevitable wrinkles are there and I just accept them. So, yes, I count my blessings that I am still fit and able compared to some of my peers.

mollie Sun 16-Feb-14 18:41:16

I'm grateful for every wrinkle, they are signs of surviving this far. I don't miss my younger days as life is definitely better now and frankly I've always been invisible and I'm happy to continue that way.

Ana Sun 16-Feb-14 19:01:27

You should enter that post in the Win a Luxury Holiday competition, mollie. Seriously!

mollie Sun 16-Feb-14 22:44:53

Oh? Which comp is that, Ana?

mollie Sun 16-Feb-14 22:58:55

OK, see what you mean... thanks!

I am so happy to be here after the horrible few years DH and I have had healthwise. I love my age and am proud of my wrinkles even though I use anti-wrinkle cream every day and night. I am happy happy happy.

Talking about the comp. Have you noticed that it has more posts than any other recent post at the moment.

I'm not clear what the "rubbish about getting old" actually is.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Feb-14 08:52:29

Oh, use it absent!

It crops up all over the place, including on this website. Just think about it! hmm (can't spell everything out)

Flowerofthewest Mon 17-Feb-14 11:17:31

'Use it?' Use what? Use it or lose it??

rosesarered Mon 17-Feb-14 14:08:41

Huh? Have I missed something? I don't think any of us are OTT about ageing on here are we? But it's ok to have a slight moan or two surely?Because not all is wonderful about ageing, even when we accept it.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Feb-14 16:25:10

Oh for goodness sake! hmm

It was the latest competition thing on here that brought it on. (I'm trying hard to avoid getting banned again, for undermining subsidised threads. Make me spell it out why don't you)

Ana Mon 17-Feb-14 16:42:57

There have been several recent threads about getting old, or older women's role models, as well as the wrinkly neck thread! grin
We do seem to be dwelling on it rather a bit...

TriciaF Mon 17-Feb-14 17:13:06

I'm not bothered about wrinkles etc, and can even cope with my body's signs of cracking up, (78th birthday in 2 weeks.) But what bothers me more is my preoccupation with the past.
I'm obsessed with WW2 hmm
How do I learn to focus on plans for the future ? - taking into account shortage of funds.
I realise that many of you on here are youngsters in their 50s and 60s, Perhaps now the difference comes at age 70.

Galen Mon 17-Feb-14 17:14:30

I wouldn't care if it didn't mean more pain!

absent Mon 17-Feb-14 18:07:11

Sorry. I don't look at the competition threads. I thought I had missed something interesting. Clearly not. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Feb-14 18:12:22

No. Not at all. I forgot your being on the other side of the world when I started the thread. Silly me! smile

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Feb-14 18:14:40

It would be a long way to come for a holiday. in a wooden hut with a hot tub

Kiora Mon 17-Feb-14 18:27:45
