This is terrible news. I don't know what to say.

Monsters !

Can't remember the last time I broke down whilst watching news, but I did tonight. Poor, poor man and his devastated family.

I am simply angry at the barbarity- these people are not following the Koran or teaching of their Prophet - they are lower than animals.

Awful news - so sad for his family, for everyone.

So, so sad. His poor family.

There are no words to describe how disgusted I feel. And so very sad for his family, and the families of other victims.

Not often I agree with David Cameron, but "barbaric and repulsive ", it certainly was.

Oh the world we live in my condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Such a sad waste of a good man's life. I feel so sad for his family.

They cannot see goodness prosper. They are foul creatures. Words alone cannot describe them. If there is such a thing as Karma (and I'm sure there is), I hope it comes back round to them a million-fold.

I entirely agree with jingl's link- Muslim leaders and Muslims at whatever level need to not only speak out but in the case of politicians and leadets, take action.

Alan was a far better man than the scum who captured and killed him.

This evil cannot be allowed to continue and the Muslim leaders and ordinary Muslims around the world need to stand up and shout out against this.

I agree thatbags and Anya it is high time that good Muslims stood up against this evil. Declaring "not in my name" simply isn't enough.
