whitewave Mon 14-Sept-15 18:05:18

Yes ana absolutely all sorts of opinions and speculation , it was ever thus smile

Ceesnan Mon 14-Sept-15 18:05:28

smile

Anniebach Mon 14-Sept-15 18:10:08

No Ana it was not given as an opinion , why not ' I have heard it said' or ' in my opinion' ?

trisher Mon 14-Sept-15 18:12:15

jfem you say" I was merely shocked that a key selection process should be conducted without leadership criteria being important and evidence of experience and skills etc being taken into account. 30 years as an MP unless he achieved some remarkable achievements means little without having had a leadership position/ ministerial position of any kind."
How about from not even an MP- 2000 to Prime Minister 2010?- only previous experience leader of the Conservative Party 2005. Some might regard DC as having a distinct lack of experience and skill.
If any employers want to avoid strikes al they need to do is establish good communications with their workers, pay a decent wage with good terms and conditions then strikes wont be necessary.

rosequartz Mon 14-Sept-15 18:16:17

Hearsay.

Inadmissible as evidence (usually) grin

Ceesnan Mon 14-Sept-15 18:29:36

Anniebach okay, maybe I should have put IMO, but I didn't. As far as I can tell the world is still spinning and nobody has died because I missed out three little letters. Chill!

Anniebach Mon 14-Sept-15 18:41:08

I have no need to chill Ceesan, just think if trying to blacken a persons reputation then do so with facts , perhaps the world was spinning too fast for you and caused you to forget the three little letters, perhaps you need to take Cameron's advice -calm down dear

rosequartz Mon 14-Sept-15 19:28:02

if trying to blacken a persons reputation then do so with facts

I think Mr Corbyn is quite capable of doing that for himself without Ceesnanan's help

As are so many politicians I hasten to add.

rosequartz Mon 14-Sept-15 19:28:46

Sorry - Ceesnan's

rosesarered Mon 14-Sept-15 19:54:53

I do wish that some people on here would stop 'demanding' evidence as if we are in a court of law, we are a grans chat site for goodness sake!
Some are thrilled that we have a hard left leader of the Opposition plus a hard left shadow chancellor and maybe others , some of us are rather less thrilled . it's interesting in a sort of weird way that this has happened, a bit like watching a a train crash though, can't believe it will last, not through to the next election anyway.

rosesarered Mon 14-Sept-15 19:57:18

Maybe not until next year even.

rosequartz Mon 14-Sept-15 19:57:29

I always thought that one of my nearest and dearest was to the left of the Labour party (Old Labour) but even he seemed to be horrified!

durhamjen Mon 14-Sept-15 20:02:00

I agree, roses. I think POGS should stop demanding evidence.

28,000 more people have signed up as full members of the Labour Party since Corbyn was elected. Brilliant.
I have no evidence for it but I am sure you will be able to find it if you want it.

rosesarered Mon 14-Sept-15 20:08:22

Yes, it's alright saying things like ' it should invigorate the party' or ' we don't want wishy washy leaders' etc but have you seen the things that Corbyn and the new shadow chancellor want for the future? How can you possibly have a PM ( presumably some want him to be PM in the future)
Who says 'no wars'? I mean that's crazy, you can't say no to any war, you may have to fight, to protect your country and it's interests, who can say about the future? he doesn't like NATO either, or Trident or any nuclear deterrent . these are only a few of his ideas, not fine for a future PM.

Ana Mon 14-Sept-15 20:09:31

You know very well that it wasn't POGS who was demanding 'evidence' durhamjen, so why do you insist on making yourself sound silly?

And obviously you have 'evidence' for your claim that 28,000 more people have signed up but you have chosen not to post one of your famous links this time, just to make a point...

rosequartz Mon 14-Sept-15 20:12:41

Are annie and POGS the same person? shock
He/she must have difficulty remembering what he/she posted .....

apricot Mon 14-Sept-15 20:13:50

I seem to have a new hobby since joining the Labour party (properly, not just the £3-to-vote-for-Corbyn)
I'm getting an endless stream of e mails and petitions to sign, which is fun now but may pall later. They all address me by my surname, which is odd, but as my surname is dead common it makes me feel safely anonymous.

Anniebach Mon 14-Sept-15 20:21:46

I am not POGS, you will have to ask POGS if he/she is me rosequartz It would be wrong for me to answer for he/she

Gracesgran Mon 14-Sept-15 20:23:35

Wow 28,000 more full members Jen, that's a great endorsement of the result of the election.

I am so impressed with the knowledgeable Labour MPs talking in the Trade Union Bill. Their constituencies should be proud of them.

POGS Mon 14-Sept-15 20:37:19

durhamjen

Explain your post 20.02 ,. what evidence have I demanded.?

Or is this yet another attempt to reel me into a tedious game you like to play of cat and mouse which only serves to bore the t--s off everybody else.

rosequartz Mon 14-Sept-15 20:41:59

anniebach grin

I'm off before I get even more hmm whatever

moon

durhamjen Mon 14-Sept-15 21:06:40

POGS you demand evidence from Margaretx but I cannot say on what thread. If roses thinks evidence should not be demanded on this thread, it is surely the same on all threads.

rosesarered Mon 14-Sept-15 21:15:10

Djen, if you use humour... People are supposed to get it, if not, youv'e used it wrongly, but you do get marks for trying!

Ana Mon 14-Sept-15 21:15:42

How ridiculous!

It was whitewave who was insisting that evidence should be given for all statements given on this thread, if they happen to disagree with the left view.

Stick to the thread in hand, or this bickering could go on forever - I'm sure I could dredge up something you've said in the past, durhamjen, which you wouldn't like dredging up...
