As jinglbellsfrocks had the last word in the last thread about Jermy Corbyn, I am starting a new one.

Do you think that the election of Jeremy Corbyn has scuppered Labour's chances of winning the next election or has it revitalised the party?

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-15 10:34:02

So true trisher, at some demonstrations the police are instructed to cause disruption, you can spot them, their number which is always suppose to be visible is covered, their faces covered and kettling is guaranteed to cause problems - so they do it and every given oppertunity

nigglynellie Sat 03-Oct-15 10:34:49

P.S My idea of barbarism is IS! Also Russia's indiscriminate bombing of Syria! So much for socialism!!!

nigglynellie Sat 03-Oct-15 10:38:34

I wouldn't dream of speaking for anyone, least of all you Annibach!

A clinic run by the charity MSF has been hit during a strike in Afghanistan, more than 30 staff are unaccounted for. America had been told of the location of this clinic but they carried on, friendly fire perhaps

annodomini Sat 03-Oct-15 10:49:28

The Americans have admitted that it was probably their aircraft that did the damage - the Taliban usually fight on the ground - and they coldly call it 'collateral damage'.

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-15 11:04:17

nigglenellie, could you explain how you link Russia bombing Syria with socialism?

nigglynellie Sat 03-Oct-15 12:03:05

I've always understood that socialism was about peace and improving people's lives, and as Russia is, as I understand it, (perhaps I'm wrong) a socialist country, I can't see that indiscriminate bombing of helplessness civilians goes hand in hand with the enrichment of people's lives. With America, there will, quite rightly be a hullabaloo; With Russia?!!!!! a bit of hand wringing, maybe!!!

Someone arguing that Putin is making more sense in Syria than anyone else. #apointofview

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 03-Oct-15 12:39:48

I'm not reading that link. No way is he is making sense in any decent meaning of the word.

And I think the world has moved into a very dangerous phase with Putin doing this. (Why isn't this on a separate thread?)

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-15 12:43:01

So nigglenellie the bombing of the hospital by America is democracy ?

nigglynellie Sat 03-Oct-15 12:43:56

This sums it all up perfectly.! How clever Putin is! Talk about checkmate!!

janeainsworth Sat 03-Oct-15 12:48:16

Anniebach and trisher
Surely you are not arguing that the police are always to blame when protest turns to riot, or that protesters never have intent to harm others.
In this instance, Graham Stringer, not known for his right -wing views, criticises the police for not doing enough to contain the riots in Manchester in 2011.

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-15 12:51:56

No janeaisworth, no one has claimed the police are always to blame , I do say at some demonstrations they do deliberately stir up confrontations

rosequartz Sat 03-Oct-15 12:55:26

So nigglenellie the bombing of the hospital by America is democracy?

confused Where did nigglienellie say that? Please could you point me in the right direction anniebach

She said there will be a hullabaloo and that this will be quite right.

soontobe Sat 03-Oct-15 13:08:49

Anniebach post 12.51pm whoa

nigglynellie Sat 03-Oct-15 13:18:00

I did indeed rosequartz. I was making a comparison between the bombing of a hospital which has quite rightly been roundly condemned, to the almost silent reaction to Russia's indiscriminate bombing in Syria - a bit glaring don't you think?!

rosequartz Sat 03-Oct-15 13:23:06

Well, I thought your post made your thoughts perfectly clear nigglenellie

Unlike some of mine that have frequently been misinterpreted perhaps ambiguous. hmm

janeainsworth Sat 03-Oct-15 13:29:16

Anniebach unless you have seen that with your own eyes, or you can quote documentary evidence that the police routinely incite violence st peaceful demonstrations, I think that is an outrageous assertion.

Elegran Sat 03-Oct-15 13:29:48

!!!!! How does anyone turn "With America, there will, quite rightly be a hullabaloo"

into " . . . so the bombing of the hospital by America is democracy?" ????

Reminds me of the old unanswerable yes/no trick question - "Are you still beating your wife?"

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-15 13:31:00

Rosequartz , you failed to notice I asked a question , there was a ?

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-15 13:35:51

janeaisworth , you think there is evidence which can be produced? Too funny . There was evidence when Ian Tomlinson was killed by a police officer, the police denied they were in anyway involved, then someone produced video evidence , that was bad luck for the police , death for Mr Tomlinson

Elegran Sat 03-Oct-15 13:40:15

"There was a ?" There was also a "so", implying a direct link where none exists and inviting an answer on the terms of that non-existent link. See number 3 in False arguments See also my previous post about wife-beating.

Anniebach Sat 03-Oct-15 14:08:33

No idea what you are on about Elegran, that you read a word and for you it implies something doesn't make it true ,just what you choose to think

Elegran Sat 03-Oct-15 14:10:56

Exaxctly what I saying.
