grin Nice balance to JCs woes

Ashcroft sounds like a woman being scorned putting the boot in.

DC knew about his non Dom status even though he denied it.

Lots of titttle tattle about Oxford and the "sneery" club. What a horrible lot they are.

Nelliemoser Mon 21-Sept-15 17:46:31

Posted too soon. Should be character . However it appears he should know about the non Dom status of his best mate. Taking the odd spliff or getting --pissed in Bullingdon club antics is not a crime as long as the man is sober and honest now.
Nigglynellie the allegations of strange goings on are coming from a previous friend not from the opposition. If trying substances is all it is and no serious crime is committed we should not be too po faced about it whatever political views we hold , it's his conduct now we need to consider.

I am worried about something I read about Cameron over the weekend; his favourite children's book is The Lorax.
Has the man no shame?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 21-Sept-15 19:02:44

confused What's wrong with that then?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 21-Sept-15 19:04:40

Was Doctor Seuss some sort of subversive right-winger? [shock}

rosequartz Mon 21-Sept-15 19:30:00

djen grin

rosequartz Mon 21-Sept-15 19:32:01

It all makes him seem more human somehow!

Ashcroft has always been vengeful - reportedly, allegedly, supposedly, so I heard from a source which I could not possibly disclose.

rosequartz Mon 21-Sept-15 19:32:23

I mean DC seeming more human, not Ashcroft btw

Iam64 Mon 21-Sept-15 19:45:37

This really confirms the advice to keep your friends close but your enemies closer .

I'm not remotely bothered if Cameron took drugs when he was at university. The sheer nastiness of Lord A's book says a lot more about him than about Cameron. The only caveat for me, is that Cameron's choice of close friends and advisor's has once more been found to be dodgy (Rebecca, Coulson etc spring to mind)

durhamjen Mon 21-Sept-15 21:08:54

The Lorax was Dr Seuss's favourite book. It's about spoiling the environment. Dr Seuss said himself that he wrote it when he was angry about what was happening to the environment.
Somehow I do not think Cameron got that message, being someone who wants to destroy the environment. He still hasn't given up his idea of wanting to sell off the forests.
I think Dr Seuss would be very angry about fracking.

thatbags Mon 21-Sept-15 21:14:24

I'm not very keen on David Cameron but I really don't believe he wants to destroy the environment. He may be mistaken about how to go about preserving it, but that's not the same as actively wanting to destroy it.

durhamjen Mon 21-Sept-15 21:21:24

Fracking? Selling off the forests? He can't think that will improve or preserve the environment.
He came in on a promise of think blue, get green. That didn't happen, and he has now removed subsidies for green energy. Not environmentally friendly.
He has agreed to allow farmers to use pesticides which are known to harm bees, against EU advice. That's harming the environment.

LumpySpacedPrincess Mon 21-Sept-15 21:23:17

The idea that we're supposed to let this go as if it were some childish jolly japes amuses me. Can you imagine if this was Corbyn, he would be vilified.

thatbags Mon 21-Sept-15 21:24:55

Not everyone believes fracking will damage the environment very much. I expect DC is one of those. I'm guessing he also believes that private ownership of forests is not necessarily a bad thing. I don't believe he wants to be deliberately destructive.

durhamjen Mon 21-Sept-15 21:33:47

Pesticides?

Makes Corbyn's little trip around Europe somewhat normal compared with pigs and penises. Both happened zeons ago but somehow one is fair game and the other makes him more" human"confused. I would be pretty cheesed if it was my son, that and so many questions about his judgement of the friends he keeps.

durhamjen Mon 21-Sept-15 21:54:15

I liked Paddy Ashdown's tweet.

"Typical! David Cameron once again hogging the headlines at the Lib Dem Conference."

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 21-Sept-15 22:14:54

Wonder how long it will be before they winkle out who the "senior MP" is who is the source of the pig info. grin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 21-Sept-15 22:16:21

durhamjen that's just daft about the Dr Seuss book. hmm

#gettingabitsilynow grin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 21-Sept-15 22:17:31

How do you know what Dr Seuss would have thought about fracking?! grin

whitewave Mon 21-Sept-15 22:18:19

GO? He grinned when asked about it

#leadership can't come quick enough

* LumpySpacedPrincess * If it happened, it was just some silly jolly jape.

Boris was a member, so it is said, as was Hugh Grant.

Jingle, I think Seuss would be annoyed at Cameron saying it was his favourite book. It's daft that Cameron says it's his favourite book, unless he did not understand the message.

The People's Assembly are running a competition for the best pig mask at the Tory Party Conference next month. Can't remember what the prize is.
