Watching the news and there have been 2 separate incidents in Paris (one explosion near a football ground and one shoot out at a restaurant.). 4 dead so far. So awful. What is happening?

Elegran Mon 16-Nov-15 17:27:25

And STOP

Elegran Mon 16-Nov-15 17:28:16

Unless you'd like a Kalshnikov in your hands, to make sure that you make your feeble points more emphatically!

Anniebach Mon 16-Nov-15 17:35:50

No , not needed, and my point is not feeble,

Elegran Mon 16-Nov-15 17:45:21

Then have the grace to stop anyway. You are flogging a dead horse on a thread about more serious deaths.

soontobe Mon 16-Nov-15 17:52:16

I moved threads of my own accord, as this is not a religious thread.

I agree that there is a place for it here up to a point, but I thought it time to relocate most of it onto the religious topic.

Anniebach Mon 16-Nov-15 18:00:26

I accept you chose to stop posting your religious views here soon, my complaint was you were told to. That you choose to speak of God in a space allocated to him is a pity though

rosesarered Mon 16-Nov-15 18:18:49

soontb smile
Alea have no fear, HQ did Not tell me, or anyone else not to post our viewsgrin
Let us Please get back to the thread.

rosesarered Mon 16-Nov-15 18:21:25

Listening to radio a bit earlier, it does seem that almost all ( if not all) of the terrorists were French or Belgian citizens.

Lilygran Mon 16-Nov-15 18:48:00

Rosesarered the root of the terrorist movement is intolerance. It is intolerant to rubbish and dismiss other people's views. It implies your views and opinions are of more value than the ones you object to. And therefore, that you do not value the people whose views you deride. Failure to recognise other people have value is the basis of intolerance. Everyone has the right to express their opinion, however foolish or misguided you may think it is. Come up with a genuine refutation, embark on a genuine argument, express some real opinions.

granjura Mon 16-Nov-15 18:49:23

Hear, hear- sadly far too rare on GN.

rosesarered Mon 16-Nov-15 18:58:05

In case you missed it lilygran it was not only me that found all the bible bits intrusive. They detracted from the thread which was about the Paris atrocity as you well know.They... soontb and anniebach often spar about their Christian beliefs , and although nothing was stopping them, if they felt it was important,to continue on this thread, soontb decided not to, and to continue it on her other more religious minded thread.anniebach decided to keep on ( and on and on) which was also her choice.Nothing at all to do with 'rubbishing' Christian views actually!Time and place.

rosesarered Mon 16-Nov-15 18:59:16

And we were trying to move on here btw.

janeainsworth Mon 16-Nov-15 19:02:55

Lily Do you mean terrorism is rooted in the intolerance of the terrorists, or the intolerance of those who don't accept in their society people of different beliefs to themselves, giving an excuse to the terrorists for their actions? Or both?
How can those who want to live their lives in peace decide when enough has been tolerated, and lines should be drawn? I don't know the answer to that and don't expect you to, but it is part of the question of how society can rid itself of terrorism without fuelling it.

Ana Mon 16-Nov-15 19:03:48

Exactly. And no one 'rubbished' or 'dismissed' anyone else's views.

Several people felt the same as rosesarered about the Christianity debate being carried on between soontobe and Anniebach being inappropriate for this thread.

Some people just seem to like stirring up trouble! hmm

Ana Mon 16-Nov-15 19:04:59

And now I've fallen into the trap again...I'm off!

Anniebach Mon 16-Nov-15 19:15:41

I thought this had finished , soon posted verses from the bible, i disagreed , rosesarered said this was not the thread for religion so soon moved to snother thread. I then said in quite a few posts everyone has the right to post their views and opinions and should not be told their opinions were not for this thread , and I still stick with this, rosesarered is wrong to tell others what she considers suitable for a thread

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Nov-15 19:16:37

Oh! Shut the fuck up! The lot of you!!! hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Nov-15 19:18:23

I will re-phrase that. smile

Shall we stop squabbling now? hmm

Anniebach Mon 16-Nov-15 19:24:54

I am not squabbling jingle ,it is dishonest for rosesarered to claim - nothing was stopping them ,when she had said - why have we got all this pseudo Christian mumbo jumbo on this thread

I will not accept being accused of causing trouble when I did not, I just refused to step back from the truth.

granjura Mon 16-Nov-15 19:25:37

Jingle- is that an illustration of

Come up with a genuine refutation, embark on a genuine argument, express some real opinions.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Nov-15 19:31:50

That'll be it gj. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 16-Nov-15 19:33:58

I've probably put a bloody sight more into these discussions than you have missis! hmm
