Should we bomb De-ash/ISIS in Syria?

Blair took us into the Iraq war (to keep his American allies happy) and the Middle East was de-stabilised.
Its even more unstable and Cameron seems keen to send bombers there, presumably to keep his EU allies happy (given his negotiations...).
ISIS/DEA-SH thrive on chaos. They are a death cult aimed at hastening the end of the world. (Day of Judgement, Islam style).
Given the chaos in Syria and Iraq with all the different factions on the ground and Russia joining the throng in the air I cannot see why joining in would be either helpful or wise.
The poor civilians on the ground are now in fear of Assad, De-ash/ISIS and the bombs.
Cameron's arguments are thin.
Here are some more arguments on the other side voxpoliticalonline.com/2015/11/27/how-many-innocents-will-die-because-of-right-wing-labours-petulance/
Your MP will be heading back to their constituency to think about this over the weekend.
If you are against the bombing please, please write to your MP.
You can use this very easy site. You just type in your postcode and the site will ensure that your MP gets your email. They will be getting lots of emails on the subject so there is no need to be long-winded, so it's a 5 minute task. www.writetothem.com

Jen , hope you can remember the sites being given , I couldn't grab a pen in time . At this minute I can only think - God help them

Took notes all the way through.

Over a thousand people watching. Hoped there would be more, but obviously better things to do.

Very scary. I particularly worry about the idea of dehumanising people in Syria, to make it seem less important when Syrian civilians die, compared with when we hear about the French or Americans.
The poor kids, not being able to go to school because the attacks begin at 9 in the morning, so they are told to go home. Mosques and schools being attacked by Assad and Russia because they want to destroy the people who are against Assad.
When they are attacked, they know whether it is a Russian or Assad missile because of the angle of the missile.
Lots of ideas; I just hope somebody important was listening.

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 17:15:23

Jen, it was torture to listen to those poor people. So Asaad is far more feared than IS

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 17:21:06

www.medicsunderfire.org has some quite appalling statistics.

Who is killing medics in Syria?
97.4% by the Syrian government
1% by the opposition
1% unknown
0.6% by ISIS

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 17:26:15

What they said, Annie, was that the coalition is forcing ISIS back into Aleppo and places like it. There are no ISIS there now, but if they keep bombing ISIS in Iraq, it will make them come back to Aleppo. The people in Aleppo are being attacked from both sides. Quite terrible.

Did you notice what he said about calling them Daesh. That's how you find out if someone is an ISIS sympathiser, because he gets upset at the name Daesh. Hope they never learn to control their annoyance.

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 18:21:36

Yes I heard that Jen, also how Asaad will have shot anyone who films in hospitals and how the people will not go into a compound because they are targeted

This explains why they are still leaving Syria in huge numbers. Despite the way we treat them in Europe, and by the way the UK is still part of Europe, they still feel safer in camps here than in Syria or the Lebanon.

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 22:04:52

Jrn I am glad I watched it, I learned so much, also sad I watched it , so much suffering and from those who experience it daily

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 22:28:07

Just watching the news. Stop the War is still getting the flack for Floyd's article.
At least someone from Stop the War is saying how ridiculous it is that Jeremy Corbyn cannot meet some of his old friends without all this criticism.

I am glad I watched it, too. However, it just makes me want to weep for them.
While it was on, I noticed that two planes full of Syrian refugees had landed in Canada. Why can't we be like that?

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 23:04:50

Vecause it would lower our standard of living according to a government Minister and Cameron claims it!s better for them for us to pay to keep them in their own country , he didn't explain how this stopped them being killed by IS or Asaad's Arny or the bombs being dropped

rosequartz Fri 11-Dec-15 23:06:26

Well, on our local news tonight Syrian refugees were being welcomed to Wiltshire. smile

Perhaps none have been welcomed to your part of the country.

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 23:28:32

Well done, Wiltshire. I am talking about 'we' as a country.
The impression Syrians are given on the news is that they are not welcome here. Cameron says 20,000 by 2020.
Canada is taking 25,000 by the end of February. The US are going to take 10,000 over the next year, despite what Trump says.

rosequartz Fri 11-Dec-15 23:31:32

I should have added 'yet' to my last sentence.

Wales expects refugees in January

rosequartz Fri 11-Dec-15 23:35:58

I just had a look, and some of the most vulnerable are expected in South Wales before Christmas.

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 23:38:42

Ten families expected in Darlington next year. Durham ready for more, but no numbers yet. We are trying to do our bit.

That's okay, then, if he says so. We can stop worrying.

Anniebach Sat 12-Dec-15 23:21:03

Before Christmas rosequartz, so been brought forward ,that's good news

Anniebach Sat 12-Dec-15 23:23:10

Must be true if Fallon says so ? Na

The government has a secret security pact with Saudi Arabia. I read in the paper at the weekend that the government has omitted a clause about capital punishment out of its submission to the UN.
Could this explain why?

By the way, this is what is happening to Aylan Kurdi's dad.

It's taken a long time for this to come out. There is no longer a committee to scrutinise arms sales. Why not?

Anniebach Mon 04-Jan-16 10:14:04

Must keep Saudi Arabia happy.

It stinks .
