Should we bomb De-ash/ISIS in Syria?

Blair took us into the Iraq war (to keep his American allies happy) and the Middle East was de-stabilised.
Its even more unstable and Cameron seems keen to send bombers there, presumably to keep his EU allies happy (given his negotiations...).
ISIS/DEA-SH thrive on chaos. They are a death cult aimed at hastening the end of the world. (Day of Judgement, Islam style).
Given the chaos in Syria and Iraq with all the different factions on the ground and Russia joining the throng in the air I cannot see why joining in would be either helpful or wise.
The poor civilians on the ground are now in fear of Assad, De-ash/ISIS and the bombs.
Cameron's arguments are thin.
Here are some more arguments on the other side voxpoliticalonline.com/2015/11/27/how-many-innocents-will-die-because-of-right-wing-labours-petulance/
Your MP will be heading back to their constituency to think about this over the weekend.
If you are against the bombing please, please write to your MP.
You can use this very easy site. You just type in your postcode and the site will ensure that your MP gets your email. They will be getting lots of emails on the subject so there is no need to be long-winded, so it's a 5 minute task. www.writetothem.com

This is why he's friends with the Saudis, no matter how many executions.

It's in the national papers now.

"In a 19-page legal letter seen by the Observer, CAAT warns that the government’s refusal to suspend current licences to Saudi Arabia, and its decision “to continue the granting of new licences” for military equipment that may be destined for use in Yemen, is unlawful. The letter cites article two of the EU Council Common Position on arms sales, which would compel the UK to deny an export licence if there was “a clear risk” that equipment might be used in a violation of international humanitarian law."

The government has been given 14 days to suspend licences to sell to Saudi Arabia, before further action is taken.

They are all troubled by Corbyn, when has a reshuffle of a shadow cabinet have so much news coverage , for a man they claim is all things negative they certaintly are concerned by and with everything he says and does

I like this. He is still attacking Corbyn while praising him for doing better than Cameron with regard to the Saudis.
They all have to do it, don't they?
Wouldn't be taken seriously if they did not attack Corbyn.

Anniebach Mon 04-Jan-16 19:20:49

No it will not Jen, and explains one reason why we flee flags at half mast when their King died and why Cameron has kept silent over the recent brutal death penalties carried out , yet America has spoken out . Can it be we are now Saudi Arabia's poodle and not America's

durhamjen Mon 04-Jan-16 19:02:29

The UK government is breaking the law by selling arms to Saudi Arabia.

Something should be done about this, too, but it will not.

Must keep Saudi Arabia happy.

It stinks .

It's taken a long time for this to come out. There is no longer a committee to scrutinise arms sales. Why not?

Thsnk you Jen, the poor man will get sympathy in buckets what he will not get is the understanding and help needed

The government has a secret security pact with Saudi Arabia. I read in the paper at the weekend that the government has omitted a clause about capital punishment out of its submission to the UN.
Could this explain why?

By the way, this is what is happening to Aylan Kurdi's dad.

Must be true if Fallon says so ? Na

Before Christmas rosequartz, so been brought forward ,that's good news

That's okay, then, if he says so. We can stop worrying.

Ten families expected in Darlington next year. Durham ready for more, but no numbers yet. We are trying to do our bit.

rosequartz Fri 11-Dec-15 23:35:58

I just had a look, and some of the most vulnerable are expected in South Wales before Christmas.

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 23:33:09

Wales expects refugees in January

rosequartz Fri 11-Dec-15 23:31:32

I should have added 'yet' to my last sentence.

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 23:28:32

Well done, Wiltshire. I am talking about 'we' as a country.
The impression Syrians are given on the news is that they are not welcome here. Cameron says 20,000 by 2020.
Canada is taking 25,000 by the end of February. The US are going to take 10,000 over the next year, despite what Trump says.

rosequartz Fri 11-Dec-15 23:06:26

While it was on, I noticed that two planes full of Syrian refugees had landed in Canada. Why can't we be like that?
Well, on our local news tonight Syrian refugees were being welcomed to Wiltshire. smile

Perhaps none have been welcomed to your part of the country.

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 23:04:50

Vecause it would lower our standard of living according to a government Minister and Cameron claims it!s better for them for us to pay to keep them in their own country , he didn't explain how this stopped them being killed by IS or Asaad's Arny or the bombs being dropped

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 22:28:07

Just watching the news. Stop the War is still getting the flack for Floyd's article.
At least someone from Stop the War is saying how ridiculous it is that Jeremy Corbyn cannot meet some of his old friends without all this criticism.

I am glad I watched it, too. However, it just makes me want to weep for them.

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 22:04:52

Jrn I am glad I watched it, I learned so much, also sad I watched it , so much suffering and from those who experience it daily

www.opendemocracy.net/arab-awakening/ali-k-ali/movement-of-displaced-to-europe-will-continue-regardless-of-how-dangerous-e

This explains why they are still leaving Syria in huge numbers. Despite the way we treat them in Europe, and by the way the UK is still part of Europe, they still feel safer in camps here than in Syria or the Lebanon.
