Should we bomb De-ash/ISIS in Syria?

Blair took us into the Iraq war (to keep his American allies happy) and the Middle East was de-stabilised.
Its even more unstable and Cameron seems keen to send bombers there, presumably to keep his EU allies happy (given his negotiations...).
ISIS/DEA-SH thrive on chaos. They are a death cult aimed at hastening the end of the world. (Day of Judgement, Islam style).
Given the chaos in Syria and Iraq with all the different factions on the ground and Russia joining the throng in the air I cannot see why joining in would be either helpful or wise.
The poor civilians on the ground are now in fear of Assad, De-ash/ISIS and the bombs.
Cameron's arguments are thin.
Here are some more arguments on the other side voxpoliticalonline.com/2015/11/27/how-many-innocents-will-die-because-of-right-wing-labours-petulance/
Your MP will be heading back to their constituency to think about this over the weekend.
If you are against the bombing please, please write to your MP.
You can use this very easy site. You just type in your postcode and the site will ensure that your MP gets your email. They will be getting lots of emails on the subject so there is no need to be long-winded, so it's a 5 minute task. www.writetothem.com

Yes I heard that Jen, also how Asaad will have shot anyone who films in hospitals and how the people will not go into a compound because they are targeted

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 17:26:15

What they said, Annie, was that the coalition is forcing ISIS back into Aleppo and places like it. There are no ISIS there now, but if they keep bombing ISIS in Iraq, it will make them come back to Aleppo. The people in Aleppo are being attacked from both sides. Quite terrible.

Did you notice what he said about calling them Daesh. That's how you find out if someone is an ISIS sympathiser, because he gets upset at the name Daesh. Hope they never learn to control their annoyance.

www.medicsunderfire.org has some quite appalling statistics.

Who is killing medics in Syria?
97.4% by the Syrian government
1% by the opposition
1% unknown
0.6% by ISIS

Anniebach Fri 11-Dec-15 17:15:23

Jen, it was torture to listen to those poor people. So Asaad is far more feared than IS

durhamjen Fri 11-Dec-15 17:13:04

Took notes all the way through.

Over a thousand people watching. Hoped there would be more, but obviously better things to do.

Very scary. I particularly worry about the idea of dehumanising people in Syria, to make it seem less important when Syrian civilians die, compared with when we hear about the French or Americans.
The poor kids, not being able to go to school because the attacks begin at 9 in the morning, so they are told to go home. Mosques and schools being attacked by Assad and Russia because they want to destroy the people who are against Assad.
When they are attacked, they know whether it is a Russian or Assad missile because of the angle of the missile.
Lots of ideas; I just hope somebody important was listening.

Jen , hope you can remember the sites being given , I couldn't grab a pen in time . At this minute I can only think - God help them

Tomorrow at 4 p.m. GMT someone is going to be on facebook direct from Aleppo.

This is the facebook event.

Like one of them says, "Everyone is talking about us; nobody is listening to us."

Anniebach Wed 09-Dec-15 21:58:36

Yes I think the same

durhamjen Wed 09-Dec-15 19:56:51

This is the government response to an online petition about the Iraq war.

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/108495?reveal_response=yes#response-threshold

Anyone else think that the response means the government is covering its back?

By the way, the petition is still open to be signed.

I agree with David.

This I can believe fully and confirms by beliefs

An Amnesty report on how IS get their arms. The actual report is 16 pages long, but this says from 25 different countries.

Anniebach Tue 08-Dec-15 22:59:39

That Tory MP beat it to it,- we must vote to bomb , we need to be back on the world stage , what a reason to bomb

However, it's okay because Osborne says that Britain has got its mojo back.

Ana Tue 08-Dec-15 21:02:38

I'm actually not sure whether that should be allowed to stay up.

I do wonder how people source these unpleasant sites.

POGS Tue 08-Dec-15 20:38:41

So now we have links to Gordon Duff. Ye Gods.

Some of the comments in response to the article are vile.

Maybe durhamjen agrees with them.

rosequartz Tue 08-Dec-15 19:20:44

ps and people believe Assad?

rosequartz Tue 08-Dec-15 19:09:05

Assad says it is illegal, as neither he nor the UN have given permission for this.
shock well, you really couldn't make that up could you!!
What a nerve!

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 04-Dec-15 16:50:56

gj his approach took me back a bit when I first read the Guardian article and then realised he was right, especially when Assad controls so little territory than previously. But then although I agreed with Nicolas Henin, I also heard a speaker explaining the difficulties for many of the Syrian rebels who would effectively be asked to fight on two fronts - Assad and Daesh.

There is no simple solution and it's all academic now the air strikes have started.
