Is he a threat ? How do you feel about him? Do you agree with his dogma ?

petra Tue 29-Mar-16 11:37:06

GillT57. No offence meant, but we are not always aware of our nearest and dearest views on race/ religion/social standing. I'm sure there are many who put a label on people purely by what they see.
I give my Father as an example. He was a thug. He went to prison, always up for a fight (you get the picture) I know what label people would put on him, but he didn't have a racist bone in his body.

It's a poem.

A letter to sign to Trump to stop him making the world more dangerous.

Dara Wed 30-Mar-16 19:03:28

Can't abide him. Come on Hillary!

pompa Wed 30-Mar-16 19:54:33

Kept off this thread until now as I dislike Trump with a passion, he is WW3 in waiting.

Pittcity Wed 30-Mar-16 20:57:11

Sarah Palin's husband had an accident welshwife.
Pompa Trump has said that he would only use nuclear annihilation as a "last resort" shock

Anniebach Wed 30-Mar-16 21:33:21

Trump has said in an interview should there be a law brought in against abortion he thinks women who choose to have an sbortion should be punished, the republicans are pro life but to yo this e treme - even thought some have murdered staff at abortion clinics

Thry are pro life and pro guns ,

annodomini Wed 30-Mar-16 21:43:27

I'm sure no-one here is in any doubt about Trump's toxicity, but if you haven't already seen the short documentary about his construction of a golf course in Aberdeenshire, watch You've been Trumped.

LullyDully Wed 30-Mar-16 22:20:53

I am beginning to wonder if he is just trying to be more and more outrageous for " fun " .Just seeing how.far he can go before people realise he is totally unfit.

Surely he can not be serious. Bringing back, waterboarding, punishing women who do.not have legal abortions, expecting the Mexicans to pay for a wall to keep themselves in......... Surely he can not be serious.

What a danger to the free world.!

lynnie1 Wed 30-Mar-16 22:31:39

His comments are becoming more and more outrageous, I agree. One can only hope that Hilary succeeds.

I truly believe that he is a megalomaniac

durhamjen Wed 30-Mar-16 23:04:19

Just seen a newspaper headline saying that Boris is on target to replace Cameron.

Just imagine, Boris and Donald!

lynnie1 Wed 30-Mar-16 23:35:49

Boris has been less than complementary about him...

LullyDully Thu 31-Mar-16 08:20:26

I think it is lazy thinking to compare Trump and Johnson just because both are outspoken and look similar.

Trump is a danger to us all. He is not a political thinker just a fool who opens his mouth and it all pours out. Boris is not such a twit as he would have you believe. Not that I am that keen on him either.

Elegran Thu 31-Mar-16 08:51:04

Good article on Can Trump be stopped

AdeleJay Thu 31-Mar-16 10:25:33

Trump is just too scary. What is even more scary is that he has hoodwinked so many and has 'got away with'/been applauded for his truly dreadful behaviour. I think megalomania is indeed what he suffers from.

Cybernan12 Thu 31-Mar-16 10:38:48

I just think Donald Trump is a joke, and could be a very dangerous president. He uses his personality to whip up a sense of euphoria and well being among his captive electorate. I feel for the future of our grandkids if this idiot is elected. He and Putin are of the same belief. (Communists)

missdeke Thu 31-Mar-16 10:42:16

I saw the most apt comment/meme on Trump,
'American citizens you think this is an election, it's actually an IQ test'
Lets hope they see sense before it's too late

durhamjen Thu 31-Mar-16 10:43:44

Who compared them just because of their outspokenness and looks? Not me.

I would just hate a world where either of them are in charge of their respective countries; both in charge is very frightening.

www.fullfact.org.uk has lots of factchecks on Boris. He doesn't come out very well in them.
Boris has difficulty stating his case to a committee of MPs. He even tries bluster there. He's been incompetent in running London. What chance for the country?

Elegran Thu 31-Mar-16 10:50:56

The way people seem to vote for him seems very much like the way so many are voting for the exploration ship to be called Boaty Boatface - as though they think "He appears iconoclastic and a change from the rather stick-in-the-mud snobbish establishment so I'll go for that!"

But making him president of the most powerful country in the world is a far cry from giving a cheerful and irreverent name to a working boat!

ajanela Thu 31-Mar-16 11:12:03

I have an English friends, who are now American citizens and they are fully supporting Trump. How they can speak about immigrates as that is what they ate, and being born in the 50's they had the full benifit of the UK welfare state which gave them good health care and a good education to get good employment.

They live in the Bible Belt and have become very active members in their church, which looking at the photos seems to be very white .

She says to me "With all due respect, you don't know what you are talking about."
And I admit I am not living in their situation but ......

I also have many Americans friends living in Europe and they are horrified by Trump. Unfortunately Trump is saying a lot of things people in the US want to hear.

It is scary.

I think the President can press the button without consulting anyone. After all if the president thought they were under attack he would have no time to call a meeting.

ExaltedWombat Thu 31-Mar-16 12:35:25

It may be that Trump is merely doing What It Takes To Get Elected. Cynical - but the first job is always to GET elected.

Anya Thu 31-Mar-16 12:45:46

Doesn't say much for the mentality of the average Anerican voter though , does it?

Though - I don't imagine there's any difference between them and us and the rest of the world.

Elegran Thu 31-Mar-16 12:46:01

That would make it a gamble what disastrous decisions he would take to stay in power for a second term.

Anya Thu 31-Mar-16 12:47:34

I don't want to even imagine that Elegran
