The Telegraph thought that Tony Benn's system was good, not illegal and sensible for all of us who own homes more than the IHT limit. That doesn't concern me.

Cameron says that he and his wife had £30,000 in Blairmore. The Blairmore papers say that the minimum is £70,000.

If he resigned they would choose a new leader to be PM from the Conservative Party, and somebody would step in as a temporary measure until the new leader was chosen.I doubt he would go before the EU referendum though he will step down sometime in the next couple of years( if we chose 'out' of the EU he may choose to stand down later in the year I guess.)

As capital gains tax IS paid when shares are sold where is the tax avoidance in that?

It doesn't matter a jot about ratings at the moment, it will only matter in 2020.

It seems to me that Cameron's only mistake was not to have said directly, last week, that he used to have shares but sold them(and of course paid the capital gains tax on them.)

This means there is a possibility that Blairmore Holdings’ tax affairs could come under scrutiny."

Nobody knows whether everything was legal or not. Ian Cameron was one of five directors of Blairmore. No idea who the others were, but HMRC will be able to find out, I hope.
