What a prat!

I can't believe no one's started a thread about this, and the effect his ill-considered words are having on the Labour Party.

durhamjen Mon 02-May-16 14:53:29

6 is 6 too many, obieone?
I wonder how many there are in the Tory party.

obieone Mon 02-May-16 15:18:04

That has got nothing to do with it. I can never understand that sort of mentality.
"He does it so I can do it" like schoolchildren try.
I used to tell my kids in no uncertain terms, that that wouldnt wash with me.

obieone Mon 02-May-16 15:20:07

6 is not too many durhamjen? I sincerely hope you dont think that.

granjura Mon 02-May-16 15:32:35

jollyG- scraping the barrel for mentioneing that the Havvaara Agreement did happen? Not really sure what you mean here and why?

Perspectives about history do change. When I was a child, I grew up with the 'reality' that the (Red) Indians were the 'bad' guys ... I think we know better now.

Anniebach Mon 02-May-16 15:47:28

.obieine, 6 out of thousands? not in the real world sorry

Anniebach Mon 02-May-16 15:49:50

I find the six is six too many amusing, one racist is one too many but there are thousands in this country, in every country

Royandsyl Mon 02-May-16 15:50:01

I am amazed at the number of lefties on this site. Zac Goldsmith happens to be our MP. He has worked very hard and every week sends out an email listing all the places and things he has done for the residents of his constituency. If you cannot say anything nice about any id rather - say nothing! The Labour Party is bad news for Britain. Look at some of Corbyns associates!

Anniebach Mon 02-May-16 15:56:34

Royalandsyl, what iscyourvopinuon on goldsmith using the photograph on the Bloen up London bus for his campaign?

If you can!t say anything nice about any - then follow this with saying something not nice is so funny

durhamjen Mon 02-May-16 16:13:04

Why are you amazed at the number of lefties on this site?
I am amazed at the number of people who voted to privatise the health service and the education of our children, to allow tax cheats, to allow the number of food banks to increase the way they have, to demonise the poor and workless, to not say a word about people committing suicide because their benefits have been stopped....
I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Do you think Zac's leaflets are racist, because I do.

durhamjen Mon 02-May-16 16:16:03

If you cannot say anything nice....

The Labour party is bad news. Look at some of Corbyn's associates...

Perhaps you ought to take your own advice.

Jalima Mon 02-May-16 16:16:18

I find the six is six too many amusing, one racist is one too many
A bit confused by that statement - if one is one too many why is six is six too many amusing?

I am sure there is good and bad in everyone RoyandSyl and perhaps he does work hard for his constituents, but that was dirty tricks.

JessM Mon 02-May-16 16:19:02

Of course everyone in Goldsmith's constituency loves him because he is against the expansion of Heathrow and Richmond is on the flight path...
Some of us are not very happy about some of Cameron's associates - the Saudis, who stone people to death and, more personally, the likes of Andy Coulson and Rebecca Brooks.

durhamjen Mon 02-May-16 16:26:20

Six is six too many was obieone's comment about the number of antisemitic comments. Obieone was saying about six antisemitic comments in the Labour party, but seeming to think that there are no antisemitics in the Tory party.
One racist is one too many was Annie's response to that.

For some reason antisemitism does not seem to be thought of as being racist, or rather appears to be thought of as worse than racist. It isn't in my opinion.
Any form of racism is bad, but Zac Goldsmith and Cameron seemed to think they could get away with racist smears in the mayoral election.
When they found it wasn't working, two year old antisemitic tweets appeared, in order to deflect from Goldsmith's racism.

www.richmond.gov.uk/home/heathrow/heathrow_expansion_local_impact/flight_paths_over_richmond.htm
Landing noise (over Richmond itself) is relatively quiet.
Take-off is much noisier but quite honestly, when we lived under a flight-path, after a few weeks we didn't notice it much at all, except when Concorde took off.
www.richmond.gov.uk/home/heathrow/heathrow_expansion_local_impact/runway_alternation.htm
We support the Government’s commitment to retain runway alternation at Heathrow and that there will be no increase in the number of flights, which will remain capped at current levels

Jalima Mon 02-May-16 16:29:42

Got it now, thank you djen (about the six and one)

Jalima Mon 02-May-16 16:32:33

However, my post should in no way imply that I am in favour of the expansion of Heathrow Airport.

A red herring. Back to the main OP.

durhamjen Mon 02-May-16 16:34:54

Not forgetting, Jess, our sales of weapons to Saudi so they can bomb the Yemen to bits. Of course, some people will think that's a good thing, helping our exports and reducing the deficit.
Very good friends, the Saudis, with all that money and oil.

obieone Mon 02-May-16 16:36:24

dj, you are still attempting to put the six comments in the same sentence as the Tory Party. Dont.

daphnedill Mon 02-May-16 16:44:48

Lazigirl, Great tweet! I agree. I bet this isn't the first time the Labour Party have wished Livingstone would shut up!

Hanson's article in the Guardian article just about sums up how I feel about the whole thing, so it's a shame that some of its other writers have written at length to claim that criticising Israel is antisemitic.

I think I'll adopt Hanson's last sentence in the article as my last comment on this thread:

"I do not like a lot of what the Israeli government is doing, particularly the continuing illegal occupation of Palestine. If I can’t say that without being told off for being antisemitic, then the world has gone mad."

Just for you, obieone.

obieone Mon 02-May-16 17:05:20

Good grief. You still haven't got it.

Anniebach Mon 02-May-16 17:07:12

Goldsmith may help some if his constituents , it's his job for which he is paid. What I could not accept is no matter if my MP battled to stop airports etc , if he/she voted to take away money from the disabled , as goldsmith did, I could not hold respect for them , how can anyone be praised as a good person when they can do this

Jalima Mon 02-May-16 17:09:40

Well said daphnedil and Michelle Hanson.

obieone have you not realised yet .....
Tory = bad
Labour (well, Corbynites, not treacherous Blairites) = good

Not even 6 shades of grey in between grin

Jalima Mon 02-May-16 17:11:09

and as for the Daily Mirror
words fail me

Ana Mon 02-May-16 17:25:37

Really scraping the barrel there...hmm Gossip trash at its best!
