A thread for those who are voting OUT of the EU to make it fair

I have done hours of research and if we vote stay in then Junker ect will clamp down immediately and we will have the euro which is a failing currency already plus we will have no protection against flooding the country with immigrants.

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!

Just dropping in to remind everyone that we will continue to welcome opinion from both sides here. It's important that it remains this way, especially for such important issues as the EU referendum.

Please be respectful of one another's views as we will remove posts that break our Talk guidelines or do not sit well with site's democratic ethos.

Thanks!

I wonder who keeps reporting these 'undemocratic' posts...hmm

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 16:47:33

That was exactly the time when Cameron could have cut a good deal.....if he had been able to . So, as he is a confident speaker ( and needed a real result) i think we can assume that he was not able to, and was vetoed at every turn.

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 16:50:22

Ana it hardly needs thinking about.

Ana Sat 04-Jun-16 16:51:14

And evven the minor concessions he managed to wheedle out of them have to be ratified by all the other EU members - not much chance of that, whichever way the referendum vote goes.

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 16:55:04

Somebody mentioned not seeing many placards around, I saw a Leave one yesterday driving through a village, but that is the only one surprisingly and no Remain ones at all.perhaps some prefer to keep their voting intentions secret until the day.

Ana Sat 04-Jun-16 17:06:58

Same here, and that was in a field, not a private house.

I wonder what it was that HQ objected to in my posts? They were descriptive of what I understand to be the meanings of xenophobia and racism. I wasn't accusing anyone one of either so I'm puzzled as to the censorship. Are we not even supposed to use those words now?

I also asked a question of someone politely so as to ascertain where the difference lay in our views.

I'm shocked.

I think I'll send HQ this as I expect this will be deleted too. I still won't know why. I was NOT disrespectful!

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 17:15:10

We met some Scottish people on holiday last year, who told us that where they lived, hardly anyone wanted a poster about the Scottish referendum as you were likely to get a brick through the window.

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 17:15:53

I can't understand it either thatbags

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:20:29

Oh wait! I'm mixing up two threads. The analysis of xenophobia and racism was on a different thread.

The questions I asked on this one were not undemocratic, nor were they intended so. I queried whether requests such as are implicit in Soop's Kitchen and the low carb support thread were unreasonable. Then I suggested that if the person I addressed and I disagreed on that point then that was my understanding of their position clarified.

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:21:51

I've been reading articles claiming that free speech is being threatened here and in other places where it has traditionally been upheld. Seems GNHQ has joined in suppressing it.

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:23:49

Oh well. Shrug. I know what I'm left thinking because my question wasn't answered.

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:24:14

Get ready for some more deletions, folks.

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 17:27:50

Your posts were fine, it may be a mistake I think.

rosesarered Sat 04-Jun-16 17:28:38

Onwards and upwards.Drinks all round.??????

Ana Sat 04-Jun-16 17:29:23

If GHHQ objected to the creation of a thread 'just for Outers', why didn't they say so at the outset? confused

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:34:29

Quite.

I think whoever's on duty this evening just received a complaint and deleted my posts without understanding them. My query was not unreasonable given what's already on accepted on GN.

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:35:34

Delete the middle, superfluous 'on'.

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:37:50

Onwards and upwards indeed, roses. I've learned more than I bargained for this evening and none of it reflects all that well on the people concerned.

Delete! Delete! wink

I'd better bugger off or I'll be deleted!

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:44:02

Had a reply from HQ. I get where they were at re democracy. Yes, they really should have deleted this thread early on, given what they're saying now.

It was the remarks I addressed to 'they' that were particularly objected to. Seems they isn't impersonal enough.

Live and learn.

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:44:35

about they, not to they

thatbags Sat 04-Jun-16 17:45:23

I don't feel too bad now. I've seen far worse many a time than what I said.

granjura Sat 04-Jun-16 17:53:50

Been out all afternoon- perhaps the saddest day on GN.

Ana Sat 04-Jun-16 17:55:04

Hardly...hmm
